Get your Rocky Mountain high on the Banff Gondola Ride. The best way to soak in the grand panoramic view of the majestic Banff landscape is from the 7,486-foot-high summit of Sulphur Mountain—and you don’t even have to scale the mountain face. The glass-enclosed gondola car takes just eight minutes to ascend to the peak. The top of the mountain offers dining, shopping, the Above Banff Interpretive Center, and even the Above Banff Theater, but none of it compares to the view. Just imagine gazing over the vast vistas and down on the quaint, “tiny” town of Banff from the observation deck. You’ll think you’re in Heaven!

Moraine Lake

Winner of a Tripadvisor 2021 Travelers’ Choice Award, the pristine, glacial waters of Moraine Lake create a pictureperfect reflection of the 10 mountains that ring this stunning site. The gorgeous setting is made even more amazing by the lake’s uniquely turquoise color, best seen during June. Because this cherished lake view appeared on the back of Canada’s $20 bill for a decade in the 70s, it’s called the “Twenty Dollar View,” but it’s a must-see worth a million!

Johnston Canyon

This canyon is carved from bright, silvery limestone. Its relatively easy trail winds along roaring waterfalls, rushing creek waters, and under rugged stone bridges and tunnels. The scenery from both the lower and upper views of the falls is truly picturesque. Be one of the few who hike beyond the upper trail see the phenomenal “Ink Pots,” circular pools within blue and green ponds that are created by bubbling underground springs.
