How to choose a door lock:
1. What is your application? Heavy-Duty Commercial or Light Commercial or Residential?
For Heavy Duty — “Grade 1” Lock is required, Light Commercial — “Grade 2” Lock is required and Residential “Grade 2 and Grade 3" will work well.
2. Keep in mind, to meet building and fire code standards, the products must meet ANSI standards and have cULus stamped on the latch itself.
3. Determine the Lock Function required. Most popular lock functions are: Passage / Privacy / Entrance / Storeroom / Classroom
4. Determine Finish. Most popular is either 626 (Chrome) or 630 (Stainless Steel). Many other finishes are also available.
