Whitecaps Community Foundation Enriching lives one play at a time!

On behalf of our Board of Directors, thank you for your interest in The Whitecaps Community Foundation. Since our inaugural season in 1994, the Whitecaps have always placed an emphasis on having a strong philanthropic presence in the West Michigan communities we serve. Over the last twenty-plus years, our charitable endeavors have taken on a variety of forms, culminating with the creation of the Whitecaps Community Foundation in 2012. The Whitecaps Community Foundation and its board members are committed to building upon the rich tradition the Whitecaps have created of giving back to the West Michigan community that has sustained us over the past two decades. With continued support from our partners, donors and volunteers, we are excited about the impact the Whitecaps Community Foundation will continue to have across West Michigan. To learn more about the Foundation, receive information about donating or volunteering, or to just ask a question, please contact us at WCFBoard@whitecapsbaseball.com. We thank you for your support and look forward to working together. Sincerely, Lew Chamberlin CEO, West Michigan Whitecaps Board Member, Whitecaps Community Foundation

INNER CITY YOUTH BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL PROGRAM The primary recipient of the Whitecaps Community Foundation charitable efforts is the Whitecaps Community Foundation and YMCA Inner City Youth Baseball/Softball Program. Since 1995, more than a quarter of a million dollars has been pledged to the program, allowing more than 21,000 children the opportunity to participate in organized baseball and softball. The Inner City Youth Baseball and Softball Program is designed to teach the fundamentals of baseball, sportsmanship, and the positive values of respect, responsibility, honesty and caring. Hundreds of volunteers serve as coaches, assistant coaches, drivers and scorekeepers. Four neighborhood parks (Martin Luther King Park, Garfield Park, Richmond Park and Riverside Park) have become the gathering places for the families and neighbors of the baseball and softball players.
