In 2017 West Australian Opera will celebrate its 50th anniversary and we are delighted to offer you a year of performances, workshops and magical operatic experiences for students, educators and community groups. We are your state opera company. We want to hear your stories and share ours. From the excitement of stepping onto the red carpet at one of our performances housed within His Majesty’s Theatre or singing in your classroom we have a variety of outreach programs that offer a participatory or audience perspective inside and out the traditional theatre setting. Our programs offer teachers and students an opportunity to enrich their learning experiences and offer curriculum links including but not limited to Responding, Making, Introduction of musical concepts, Historical context, Literacy, Creative and Critical thinking, Intercultural understanding and Personal and Social capabilities. From bel canto voices to backstage secrets, we dare you to take part and experience the magic and many layers of opera.
