TOGETHER Water Safety Awareness HELP KEEP KIDS SAFE! In the Land of 10,000 Lakes, teaching children how to be safe around water is not a luxury; it is a necessity. Water Safety Awareness can help you make sure kids learn essential water safety skills, which can open a world of possibilities for them. This FREE water safety class will consist of an hour long interactive skills lesson designed to teach kids: • Water Adjustment - put face & head in the water • Using a lifejacket - putting it on safely and floating on back • How to safely assist others in danger through reaching/throwing • State 3 of 5 rules of water safety • Boat and Dock Safety with KCSO WHO? This class is for kids ages 6 to 11 years old who do NOT know how to swim. (Non-swimmers only) Parents are invited to participate in on-deck water safety classes at the same time students are in the water.

WHEN? Monday, Aug 15, 2016 3 Class times (pick one) at: • 9:30 - 10:30 am • 10:30 - 11:30 am • 11:30 am - 12:30 pm WHERE? Dorothy Olson Aquatic Center 1601 22nd St SW in Willmar WHAT TO BRING? An adult caregiver must be in attendance for a child to participate. Bring a swimsuit, towel and sunscreen for each participant. Snacks and water will be offered after each class thanks to Jennie-O Turkey Store, Bernicks and Rice Memorial Hospital and the volunteer lunch donated by Dominos Pizza.
