The Del Rey American Little League (DRALL) kicked-off its 2022 spring season with Opening Day Ceremonies on Saturday, March 12. For nearly 70 years, the baseball league has served Westchester and Playa del Rey and is comprised of boys and girls ages 5 to 12. This year, the league is almost back to its pre-pandemic numbers with 25 teams and close to 300 players. During opening day, Westchester’s American Field was filled with Little Leaguers and their families eager to play ball and participate in the festivities. Families were treated to a pancake breakfast before each player had time to shine by running from third base to home as their name was announced to the crowd.

Next up from DRALL is a Hit-a-Thon and Homerun Derby taking place April 30. The goal is to raise $30,000, which will help support large capital improvements on the field, including rebuilding announcer booths and replacing scoreboards. DRALL’s “Hall of Fame” sponsors are Zacha Homes, Stephanie Younger Group and The Suarez Team.
