includes the Regional Aboriginal Events Scheme with a funding pool of $150,000 exclusively allocated to events delivering Aboriginal activities and experiences.
The scheme was devised as a way for the Government to support smaller and emerging events in regional Western Australia to boost tourism, increase community vibrancy and participation, and develop regional areas.
Tourism is a key part of the Government’s plan to diversify the economy, create jobs and develop business opportunities, especially in regional Western Australia.
The Regional Events Scheme plays an important role in positioning Western Australia as an exciting destination to visit and a great place to live by showcasing and promoting a region’s unique and diverse attractions. Sixty-eight regional events across the State have been funded through the 2019-20 Regional Events Scheme. This year’s round

Ocean Drive
Situated on the picturesque Bunbury ‘Back Beach’ foreshore, the State ITT championship will head south on Ocean Drive for a total of 6 km’s and return, a total of 12 km’s per circuit. The Elite Men and Women will cover this course 4 times for a total of 48km’s with age group categories coving two laps for 24 km’s. The roads will be closed to traffic other than official vehicles, but riders will still need to be vigilant as it is raced over a built-up residential area.

FONDO INFORMATION | 26 OCTOBER BUNBURY General Information Bunbury is approximately 174km from Perth CBD. Allow at least 3 hours to travel, park and register at the Event Village. Free parking is available at the Dolphin Discovery Centre at Lot 556 Koombana Drive, Bunbury.
Registrations The Registration Tent will be located at the front of the Dolphin Discovery Centre and registrations will be open from 6:30am. Riders MUST present photo ID in order to sign in to the event.

Each rider will receive one transponder (unless you have registered your own transponder) and one bib number. The transponder is to be placed on the front fork of your bike. Rider Briefing An essential briefing will be held at the Dolphin Discovery Centre near the start/finish line at 7:15am. Riders will receive up to date information about the course and other details to keep you safe during your ride.
Ride Assembly Area and Start Line Please assemble at the start/finish line on Anchorage Cove next to the Dolphin Discovery Centre. Please follow the Rider Etiquette mentioned in this guide.
Hazard Areas Please be cautious turning left on to Koombana Drive after the start line and always obey the road rules.
Broom Wagon There will be a broom wagon available who anyone who requires assistance. Please call event control on 0439 155 227 to request the aid of the Broom Wagon.
Support Vehicles Prive support vehicles are not permitted as they cause unnecessary traffic congestion and inhibit the ability of registered support vehicles to efficiently navigate the route.
Mechanical Riders need to bring their own spare equipment such as tubes, pumps/CO2 etc.
First Aid A St Johns Ambulance crew will be located at the Dolphin Discovery Centre. Please only call 000 in the event of an emergency. If you require the assistance of first aid, please see one of the event marshalls on course or contact event control on 0439 155 227.

Food and Drinks
In order to maintain a safe and enjoyable event for all riders, participants should be mindful of rider etiquette prior, during and after the event. All participants should obey the road rules and follow instructions from event officials and traffic controllers • All riders are to keep to the left hand side of the road and only ride two abreast • Please always be courteous to other riders, teams, officials and other road users. • If you pull out of the ride, please ensure you notify one of the marshalls or event staff. • Please respect the local environment and do not throw rubbish on the road, dispose of it in a rubbish bin
Please bring your own water bottle and enough water for your ride. There will be additional water available at the Event Village. Coffee can also be purchased from the cafe in the Dolphin Discovery Centre. If you are planning on eating after your race, we ask that you support the local Bunbury businesses by buying food at one of the local eateries. A list of local cafes and restaurants can be found HERE
Toilets Toilets are available inside the Dolphin Discovery Centre.

The Fondo Finish The Finish Line is at the same location as the starting point on Anchorage Cove next to the Dolphin Discovery Centre. Please note official timing will conclude at 11:30am
Results Results will be uploaded to My Laps and a link published on the WestCycle Road and Track Facebook page following the ride and uploaded to the WA State Championships on Monday following the event.

Bunbury and Dardanup are approximately 174km from Perth CBD. Allow at least 3 hours to travel, park and register at the Event Village.
Rider briefings will be held at the start/finish line prior to each age category starting.
Please ensure that you are ready to start at your allocated start time as per the Start List, if you miss your miss this time, you may be disqualifed.

The Chief Commissaire has the final say on decisions during the race. Protests can be addressed to the Chief Commissaire no less than 15 minutes after the finish of your event.
Registrations will open be open from 12:00PM in the Ocean Drive Car park between Scott and Baldock Streets in Bunbury. Please allow enough time to sign in, collect race numbers and transponders and warm up. There is a strict no licence, no race policy being enforced on the day. Cycling Australia licences or proof of purchase must be presented to the Registration Desk on arrival. Please note on the day race entries and CA 7 day licences will not be accepted.

Race Numbers Each rider will receive race numbers to keep, please collect these from the Registration Desk on arrival. One race number should be pinned to your jersey on your lower back and the other on your left hip. Please use this race number for this event only, new numbers will be given for both the ITT and Road Race
Registered Kit Riders must be wearing either Registered Kit or neutral club kit. Commissaires will be policing this on the day.
Rider Etiquette Riders will be expected to follow all the directions given by the officiating Commissaires and the Race Director, failure to do this could result in disqualification or an event fine. Safety is the most important factor and we will be following all Cycling Australia Technical Regulations and expectations placed on competing riders. If you pull out of the race, please ensure you notify one of the commissaires or event staff. Riders found to be drafting during the ITT will be disqualified.
Protests and Decision Making
Results Results will be available on the My Laps website after the event and on the State Championship website the day after the event
Parking Parking is available in the car parks at the northern end of Ocean Drive near the Back Beach Cafe and Restaurant (see map below).
State Champion Jerseys Thanks to Pedal Mafia, winners will be awarded a State Champion jersey post event. WestCycle will contact the winners after the event to ascertain jersey sizing and they will be ready for collection approximately 4 weeks following this.

Start/Finish/Turn Around Points The Start/Finish/Northern end turn around point will be on Ocean Drive between Scott and Baldock Streets. The Southern end turn around point will be at the end of Ocean Drive at the intersection of Mosedale Avenue. Both areas will be marked with cones.
Presentations Presentations will be held in the Car Park once all grades have finished racing. This will be approximately 3:00pm. We appreciate riders like to return home soon after their race but we encourage everyone to stay around to celebrate the winners.

First Aid
Club/Team Marquees Club or team marquees are welcome in the car park closest to the Start/Finish Line on Ocean Drive. Please note this car park sits within the road closures which will be in place from 12pm - 4pm, equipment will need to be dropped off either side of this or walked in during these times.

Broom Wagon
Registrations open from 8:00AM at the Event Village at Dardanup Sporting and Community Centre Recreation Road just off the corner of Ferguson Road. Please allow enough time to sign in, collect race numbers and transponders and warm up. There is a strict no licence, no race policy being enforced on the day. Cycling Australia licences or proof of purchase must be presented to the Registration Desk on arrival. Please note on the day race entries and 7 day CA licences will not be accepted.
There will be a broom vehicle available to any riders who require assistance. Please call Event Control on 0439 155 227 to request the aid of the broom wagon.
Parking Parking is available at the following locations: • Event Village - Dardanup Sporting and Community Centre. Please note that access to the Centre via Ferguson Road forms part of the road closure. Access will be available until 8:30 AM, after this time, please park in the below locations: • Carramar Park, Little Street • Charlotte Street Please DO NOT park in the Dardanup Hall car park as there is another function being held there on the same day.
Hazard Areas Please note there is a road traffic island on Ferguson Road approximately 100 metres after the Finish Line. Please be cautious of this during the sprint finish. The island will be marked with a marshall and flag. Please be cautious of other riders turning in the start/finish area, who are starting their second lap.
Feed Zone Water and electrolytes will be available at the Event Village and at the feeding zone at: • After the start/finish line on Ferguson Road
Toilets Toilets are available at the Event Village. Public toilets are located outside the Dardanup Hall on Ferguson Road and behind the Dardanup Visitors Centre on Ferguson Road.
Support Vehicles Private support/spares vehicles are not permitted and riders may be fined at the discretion of the Race Director.
The Start/Finish The start/finish line is at 31 Ferguson Road. Spectators are encouraged to line the finish area and cheer riders across the line but please be respectful of the local residents in the area.
