With avant-guard, automotive-inspired design, Cressey Development Group’s Meccanica project, located on First and Quebec, was created with a software/tech-type buyer in mind. “These are the city’s trailblazers. They gravitate towards up-and-coming neighbourhoods for both work and play – 10 years ago they were interested in Gastown and now they are moving into new pockets of the city and have landed on Main Street,” says Hani Lammam, vice president of Acquisition and Development for Cressey. “They are attracted to its independent, non-commercial nature.” As the city’s technology scene further develops, with Facebook and Amazon planting their roots in the coming months, Lammam expect an increasing number of tech-types will move into this area. “The authenticity of the area lends itself to inspiration and creativity “I think that’s the reason so many people and businesses in this industry are attracted to it.”
