MATT FICHTER - Saxophone

Elsewhere: Matt Fichter is an educator, conductor, and saxophonist from Kamloops, BC. He has degrees in Music and Education from the University of Victoria, and has performed with a variety of ensembles, including the University of Victoria Wind Symphony, Sobremesa Saxophone Quartet, Beyond Brass Big Band, Kamloops Symphony Orchestra, and more. Matt is also an experienced pit band musician, having played in productions of Urinetown, Matilda, Fame, and now Grease! Matt is very active in the Kamloops music scene, having worked with the SD73 District Honour Band, the Kamloops Community Band, and the Cantabile Singers; he loves to see Kamloops come together around the arts whenever possible. In his free time, he can be found attending local musical events and jam sessions, or enjoying the beautiful scenery throughout the interior. Enjoy the music of Grease, even if you can’t make your feet behave.

GEORGIA PAPE - Alternate Bass

At WCT: Debut

Elsewhere: Georgia is a grade 11 student at St. Ann’s Academy, and is currently playing in the school band, choir, and vocal jazz. She has been studying various musical instruments with Michael Turner at Turner’s Music Studio since age 13. An aspiring musician, she plans to pursue music as a career. The very first time she got to play an electric bass, she said “I feel like I was meant to do this!”

KRIS RUSTON - Guitar

At WCT: Million Dollar Quartet – drums, Mamma Mia! – guitar, A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline – guitar, Are We Cool Now? – drums, Les Misérables – bass, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat – bass.

Elsewhere: Rhythms on The Rails – guitar (Train Track Productions); Webley Awaits – Musical Director/guitar/piano (BC Living Arts). Kris has been an integral part of the music scene in Kamloops and area for 25 years. A multiinstrumentalist, he holds a Diploma of Music in Jazz Studies from Capilano University in North Vancouver and performs in several ensembles that vary in musical genres. This is his seventh show with Western Canada Theatre

ALEXANDER WARD - Bass

At WCT: The Sound of Music, Elf the Musical, Hey Viola!, Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, Million Dollar Quartet, Mamma Mia!

Elsewhere: Alexander Ward began studying music at an early age here in Kamloops, BC. Theatre credits include: Cinderella (MD); You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown (Project X); Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story (Thousand Islands Playhouse). He currently plays for indie outfit Mother Sun who recently released their third studio album and who’s music has been featured in the ninth season of the SHOWTIME original series Shameless. Alexander frequently performs with local jazz groups including the Kris Ruston Trio and his own quartet.
