Bryan Cox was a three-time NFL Pro Bowler with Miami in 1993, 1995 and 1996. More NFL Pro Bowl players have come from Western Illinois than any other Missouri Valley Football Conference team.
Super Bowl
Bryan Cox helped the New England Patriots to a Super Bowl XXXVI title with a 20-17 win over St. Louis. Previous Leatherneck coaches and players have won 16 Super Bowl rings.
Record Books
NCAA National Records - Jason Williams set an FCS record and tied the NCAA all-division record of 14 career forced fumbles from 2005-07. - Lee Russell set an FCS record of 317 career solo tackles, and collected 480 total tackles from 2000-03. - Kyle Glazier set a Division I single-game high in 2010 when he was credited with 25 tackles at Missouri State. Conference Records Bryan Cox blocked a Leatherneck-record five kicks in 1990 and a league-record 10 in his 1987-90 career. Kyle Glazier led the MVFC in tackles his senior year, finishing second nationally in tackles per game and total tackles. He was nine tackles shy of the national-leader, who accomplished the feat playing in two more games.
ACADEMIC SUCCESS
Kyle Glazier was named First Team Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-America last year. He was one of two recipients of the Football Championship Subdivision Athletic Directors Association (FCS ADA) 2010-11 postgraduate scholarship. He was honored at a national conference in June 2011. Matt Barr and Kyle Glazier were two of the six student-athletes all-time in Missouri Valley Football Conference history to be named Player of the Year and earn First Team Academic AllConference honors. Four of the six all-time are Leathernecks.
