Thank you to the organizers, sponsors and all trade show exhibitors for making this show possible. To our national and international guests, enjoy your stay in Saskatoon. We hope you have time to take part in the many events being held throughout the city during Crop Production Week.

Midge tolerant wheat protects your crop against devastating pest damage, but it’s up to you to protect the technology. The Stewardship Agreement limits the use of farm-saved seed to one generation past Certified seed. It’s a simple step that keeps the interspersed refuge system at the proper level, preventing build-up of resistant midge.Without the refuge, we risk losing the one and only tolerant gene. There is no plan B. Protect this important tool. Plan for high yields and quality grades for years to come. Contact your retailer or visit www.midgetolerantwheat.ca.

BOARD CHAIR Saskatoon Prairieland Park Corporation

The Western Canadian Crop Production Show at Prairieland Park has been providing producers with the information and technology to make critical decisions in the grain industry for the past 33 years. This show has experienced tremendous growth which has allowed exhibitors to expand on the products and services that they can offer to the producer.

Prairieland Park Corporation, I wish to express a special thank you to the many members who have volunteered their time on the committees or helped with the set-up of the show, and to the tremendous work and dedication of the agriculture department at Prairieland. To the exhibitors, producer, and patrons —thank you for your continued support.

The Crop Production Show is an important component of Prairieland’s mandate—showcasing agriculture in a positive marketing environment. On behalf of the Board of Directors of Saskatoon

Welcome from the Chair of the COMMITTEE

Brian Sim CHAIRMAN

Crop Production Show Committee

Welcome to the Western Canadian Crop Production Show. The 2016 show continues a tradition of providing farmers with access to the most advanced products and services in the industry.

This year the Production Clinic will be held on Wednesday and explores precision farming technology. The clinic is an exploration of the various types and value of spatial information and a discussion on information ownership.

The show committee takes this opportunity to thank all the exhibitors as they present the latest in production technology that keeps Western Canadian farmers among the top crop producers in the world. Farmers from across Western Canada will have the opportunity to attend the information theater and hear from topical speakers presenting the latest in production technology.

On behalf of the Western Canadian Crop Production Show committee, staff and volunteers, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the show and wish you the very best for 2016.

Often it is curiosity, economic, and production considerations that first entice a farmer to investigate precision agriculture. However, it is economic return on investment that is paramount to a producer’s investment in precision agriculture equipment. On Wednesday January 13, join us in an exploration of—a Precision Agriculture clinic focusing on understanding spatial information and ownership of information. Certified Crop Advisors can earn Crop Management CEUs by attending.

MONDAY, JANUARY 11

Starting January 9 and continuing for the entire week, Saskatoon will be a hub of activity for everyone involved in the grains sector. The previous pages in this Show Guide are devoted to the Western Canadian Crop Production Show at Prairieland Park. These next few pages provide information on the speakers and meetings associated with CropSphere and Crop Production Week.

CropSphere is held at TCU Place in downtown Saskatoon. Crop Production Week meetings are held at the Saskatoon Inn as well as at Prairieland Park. Crop Show, CropSphere and Crop Production Week work together to let everyone know what’s happening where and when. That’s why there’s collaboration within this Show Guide as well as links between all three websites. Please note that the most up-to-date information will always be maintained on the websites. Speakers and times could change somewhat after this Show Guide is printed and delivered. This year there will be a dramatically enhanced shuttle service linking TCU Place, Prairieland Park and the Saskatoon Inn while also servicing downtown hotels. You can leave your vehicle wherever it’s most convenient and take the free shuttle. See shuttle schedule on page 39.
