Students from the Art, Crafts and Creative Enterprise course at Southall have set up a collection point for Ealing Food Bank in the Southall College reception . They are collecting donations of food items (and some toiletries) on behalf of the charity who makes up food parcels for people in need in the London Borough of Ealing. The collection point noticeboard will be updated each month with the items Ealing Food Bank needs.
Please let staff, students, friends and family know that we are collecting. "What’s in a typical food parcel?" A typical food parcel contains a minimum of three days of nutritionally balanced, nonperishable, tinned and dried foods that have been donated by the local community. A typical food parcel includes: breakfast cereal, soup, pasta, rice, pasta sauce, baked beans, tinned meat or fish, tinned vegetables, UHT milk, UHT fruit drink, tea or coffee, tinned fruit and sweet and savoury biscuits." - Ealing Food Bank Website
Please note , donated food items must be 'in date' to be included in food parcels. j.savage@wlc.ac.uk
