Sophia Camillaci of Hilton was named to the spring 2018 dean’s list at SUNY Cortland. She is a communications major and Hilton High School graduate. Kara Phillips, daughter of Lisa Swiatek and Jeffrey Phillips of Hilton, was named to the spring 2018 dean’s list at The College at Brockport. Phillips is a 2017 graduate of Hilton High School. Mariel Brueckman, daughter of Steve and Maura Brueckman of Rochester, was named to the president’s list for the 2018 spring semester at The College at Brockport. She is a 2015 graduate of ChurchvilleChili High School. Rochelle Strassner, of Rochester (14624) and a new master’s student in the Global Field Program (GFP) from Miami University’s Project Dragonfly, has recently traveled to Baja. Strassner studied desert and marine landscapes through ecological and social field methods. Michael Jamele of Brockport was named to the dean’s list for spring 2018 at Merrimack College, North Andover, Massachusetts.
Ashlee Hicks, of Brockport, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at Ithaca College. The following new students are planning to join Rochester Institute of Technology this fall: •Lauren Paige of Rochester (14624), daughter of Colleen Bush and William Paige, is in the game design and development (BS) program. Lauren is a 2018 graduate of Gates Chili High School. She received an RIT Computing Medal Scholarship. •Meredith Zachary of Hilton, daughter of Catherine Zachary and Wilson Zachary, is in the film and animation (BFA) program. Meredith is a 2018 graduate of Hilton High School. She received an RIT Founders Scholarship.
Stephanie Spring, of Hilton, is participating in the summer Research Experiences for Undergraduates Program in Chemistry at The University of Alabama. The program is funded by the National Science Foundation. Her research is focused on “Single Nanoelectrode Electrochemistry and Electrogenerated Chemiluminescence (ECL) or Perovskite Nanocrystals” under the direction of Professor Shanlin Pan. She attends Houghton College.

Major General Anthony P. German, the Adjutant General, announced the recent reenlistment of members of the State National Guard in recognition of their continuing commitment to serve community, state and nation as part of the Army National Guard. Specialist Jacob Napier of Hilton, has reenlisted to continue service with the Troop A, 2-101st Cavalry (Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition). Major Stephen M. Warren, a 1997 graduate of Spencerport High School, will be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel US Army July 27 in a ceremony being held at George Washington’s Mount Vernon. Stephen joined the Army National Guard after high school and is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo. He received the rank of 2nd Lieutenant upon successfully completing Officer Candidate School while attending SUNY Geneseo. He served in Iraq in 2004 during Iraqi Freedom and as a Captain subsequently commanded The Wounded Warrior Brigade at Walter Reed. He completed his master’s degree at George Washington University and is currently stationed in Arlington, Virginia attached to The Army National Guard Headquarters. He resides in Arlington, Virginia with his wife, Jessica and two sons, Jude and Dylan.
