The “First Responders Group is a school youth group that was started with collaboration from Clarendon, Holley, Hulberton fire companies and the Holley Central School Dist. The purpose of this group is to help recruit young students into the field of Fire, EMS and Law Enforecment. This group was formed in fall of 2013 and involves students from 6th grade through 12th grade. From this group 6 students have joined the fire service. The group meets every Monday and conducts the same training as firefighters and EMS personnel. Our group has taken field trips to Rochester Airport Crash and Rescue, Mercy Flight in Buffalo, 911 centers in both Orleans and Monroe Counties. We will be traveling to NYC in the spring to visit NYFD. The Youth Group will also start working and training with local law enforcement. Anyone with questions about this group or how to join please contact advisor Robert Freida 585-764-6540

Thank You to All Our 1st Responders!
Presented by
Steven J Thompson, DDS While their jobs have never been easy, it seems that the world today present even greater challenges for our first responders. At a time when criminals are more likely than ever to resort to extreme violence, our law enforcement officers are increasingly subjected to unreasonable scrutiny for simply doing their jobs. Our paramedics and firefighters similarly are expected to always respond on a moment’s notice, but are seldom truly appreciated until they are needed. Whether professional or volunteer, these individuals put themselves on the line for us every day and we all owe them a tremendous debt of gratitude. So, just as we do with our military, please join me in making the effort to say
Contribute to the vitality of your
“Thank You for Your Service” whenever you have the opportunity.

Gates Ambulance offers a wide array of community programs to promote good health and community. These services include blood pressure clinics, car seat checks, a loan closet, CPR classes and event stand-bys.
Blood Pressure
We offer this FREE weekly clinic every Tuesday at either our Headquarters or the Town of Gates Town Hall from 11:00 -1:00.
Car Seat Inspection Clinic
Free Car Seat Inspection Clinics are held on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Gates Ambulance Headquarters located at 1001 Elmgrove Road (near the corner of Buffalo and Elmgrove Rd). Call 247-5519 for an appointment.
Loan Closet
Gates Volunteer Ambulance Services provide no-charge loans of personal equipment to help our town members get back to health, such as... wheel chairs, crutches, canes, and walkers.
Event Coverage
With appropriate notice, Gates Volunteer Ambulance is usually able to provide a crew and ambulance to stand by during any community or sport event. With so many people in one place we want to be sure there is proper medical assistance close by. For example, we regularly do football, soccer, parade, and church festival stand-bys.
Call Coverage GVAS responded to 6,552 calls for service in 2015.
