Annie Leibovitz was born in 1949 and has been at the forefront of her profession since the 1970's. One of her most famous portraits of rock and roll personalities was a nude of John Lennon taken in 1980 shortly before his death. She is most noted for her celebrity portraits but Annie has worked in magazine, fashion, and advertising photography as well. Over the years she has worked for both Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair magazines and maintains her own studio in New York. Her work has been gaining International recognition since the 1980's to include such prestigious awards as the Clio Award, the Campaign of the Decade Award from Advertising Age magazine, and the Infinity Award for applied photography from the International Center for Photography. Today she is one of the most sought after photographers in the business and she earns her reputation for her innovative style. Her Vanity Fair cover of Demi Moore made headlines around the world. She was also chosen to do the portrait of First Lady Hilary Clinton. Annie Leibovitz is truly a master of photography and her work will continue to be highly sought after for years to come.
