atkins Glen is synonymous with racing, earning our place in the history books in October 1948 when the first post-

World War II road race in America ran through the village streets. The tradition continues today, with Watkins Glen Promotions’ ceremonial road race on the original 6.6-mile circuit during the annual Vintage Race at Watkins

Located just 4 miles from downtown Watkins Glen, racing enthusiasts can experience NASCAR, IMSA, and US Vintage Grand Prix racing at the always evolving Watkins Glen International. Dozens of waterfalls across Schuyler County and our region flow and freeze, demonstrating Mother Nature’s prowess and power! The Watkins Glen State Park is home to 19 waterfalls, but beyond this internationally renowned State Park, our

visitors seek out and explore breath-taking falls – some are roadside and some require hiking. To provide some inspiration, consider these options!

EAGLE CLIFF FALLS Located in Havana Glen Park in Montour Falls, with a moderate, consistent flow and a number of smaller, cascading falls. 135 Havana Glen Road, Montour Falls, NY 14865

EXCELSIOR GLEN The trailhead is located alongside Route 414, as it bends around the south end of Seneca Lake. Home to five waterfalls. Completely undeveloped glen, so please be careful. Requires creek walking over slippery rocks and uneven surfaces. GPS coordinates: N 42.39112 / W 76.85559

HECTOR FALLS On the east side of Seneca Lake, composed of several drops. While it is possible to see it from the road, its majestic beauty is best enjoyed while cruising on Seneca Lake.

There is also fishing at Spencer Pond, cross-country skiing, and birding. Plus, climb the 75-foot Fire Tower, listed on the National Historic Register.
