RECOGNITIONS

Special thanks to the Creator for his guidance and choosing me as a conduit to express the creative gifts he has given me and my late parents Charles and Ira Gittens.

The focus of our parting conversation was about me honing my writing skills after I had graduated and returned to Barbados. Between the period 1995 to 2016, I have discovered that the more that I practice this leisure pursuit profession it seemed to be infectious among other elements.

Thanks to those who assisted me along this journey namely my Beloved wife Magnola Gittens, my Brothers Shurland, Charles, Ricardo, Arnott, Stephen, Sisters Emerald, Marcella, Cheryl, Cousins Joy Mayers, Kevin and Ernest Mayers, Donna Archer, Avis Dyer, Jackie Clarke, Uncles Clifford, Leonard Mayers, David Bruce, Collin Rock.

The other elements such as being passionate and prolific combined together with the Creator’s help, made me a productive writer to the extent that I have now published 158 books.

In light of the aforesaid, I have decided to dedicate my 66 Th publication “A Tribute to Culture” Vol 1 in memory of Dr. Joseph Drew.

My children Laron and Lisa.

All of the above information contributed to my academic developmental journey.

Well wishers Mr.and Mrs. Andrew Platizky, Mr. Matthew Sutton, Mr.& Mrs. Gordon Alleyne, Mr. Juan Arroyo, Mr. and Mrs. David Lavine, Mrs. Ellen Gordon, Dr.Nicholas Gordon, the late Dr.Joseph Drew, Merline Mayers, Mr. and Mrs. Trevor Millington, Mr. and Mrs. Davidson Cox,Rev. HISTORY OF THE SUN The Sun is the star at the center of the Solar System. It is a nearly perfect sphere of hot plasma, "How Round is the Sun?". NASA. 2 October 2008. Retrieved 7 March2011."First Ever STEREO Images of the Entire Sun". NASA. 6 February 2011. Retrieved 7 March 2011.

core will undergo a marked increase in density and temperature while its outer layers expand, eventually transforming the Sun into a red giant. It is calculated that the Sun will become sufficiently large to engulf the current orbits of Mercury and Venus, and render Earth uninhabitable – but not for about five billion years. After this, it will shed its outer layers and become a dense type of cooling star known as a white dwarf, and no longer produce energy by fusion, but still glow and give off heat from its previous fusion.

heated to incandescence by nuclear fusion reactions in its core, radiating the energy mainly as light and infrared radiation. It is by far the most important source of energy for life on Earth. Its diameter is about 1.39 million kilometres (864,000 miles), or 109 times that of Earth, and its mass is about 330,000 times that of Earth. It accounts for about 99.86% of the total mass of the Solar System.Woolfson, M. (2000). "The origin and evolution of the solar system"(PDF). Astronomy & Geophysics. 41 (1): 12. The enormous effect of the Sun on Earth has been recognized since prehistoric times. The Sun has been regarded by some cultures as a deity. The synodic rotation of Earth and its orbit around the Sun are the basis of solar calendars, one of which is the predominant calendar in use today.

Roughly three quarters of the Sun's mass consists of hydrogen (~73%); the rest is mostly helium (~25%), with much smaller quantities of heavier elements, including oxygen, carbon, neon, and iron.Basu, S.; Antia, H.M. (2008). "Helioseismology and Solar Abundances". Physics Reports. 457 (5–6): 217–283. arXiv:0711.4590. Bibcode:2008PhR...457..217B. doi: 10.1016/j.physrep.2007.12.002. S2CID 119302796.

The Sun is a G-type main-sequence star (G2V) based on its spectral class. As such, it is informally and not completely accurately referred to as a yellow dwarf (its light is closer to white than yellow). It formed approximately 4.6 billion years ago from the gravitational collapse of matter within a region of a large molecular cloud. Most of this matter gathered in the center, whereas the rest flattened into an orbiting disk that became the Solar System. The central mass became so hot and dense that it eventually initiated nuclear fusion in its core. It is thought that almost all stars form by this process. In 1839, a year after the first photo containing a human being was made, photography pioneer Robert Cornelius made the first ever portrait of a human beinghttps:// petapixel.com/2011/07/19/the-first-self-portrait-photo-ever-made/ In its core the Sun currently fuses about 600 million tons of hydrogen into helium every second, converting 4 million tons of matter into energy every second as a result. This energy, which can take between 10,000 and 170,000 years to escape the core, is the source of the Sun's light and heat. When hydrogen fusion in its core has diminished to the point at which the Sun is no longer in hydrostatic equilibrium, its

Plastered human skulls were reconstructed human skulls that were made in the ancient Levant between 9000 and 6000 BC in the Pre-Pottery Neolithic B period. They represent some of the oldest forms of art in the Middle East and demonstrate that the prehistoric population took great care in burying their ancestors below their homes. The skulls denote some of the earliest sculptural examples of portraiture in the history of art.Kleiner, Fred S. (2012). Gardner's Art through the Ages: Backpack Edition. Cengage Learning. p. 42. A sunbeam, in meteorological optics, is a beam of sunlight that appears to radiate from the Sun's position. Shining through openings in clouds or between other objects such as mountains and buildings, these beams of particle-scattered sunlight are separated by darker shadowed volumes. Despite converging toward (or radiating from) the light source, the beams are essentially parallel shafts of directly sunlit particles separated by shadowed ones. Their apparent convergence in the sky is a visual illusion from linear perspective. This illusion also causes the apparent convergence of the otherwise parallel lines of a long straight road or hallway at a distant vanishing point. [1] The scattering particles that make sunlight visible may be air molecules or particulates.Schaefer, Vincent J.; Day, John A.; Pasachoff, Jay (1998). A Field Guide to the Atmosphere. Bay Street in Barbados provides a wealth of history, entertainment, cuisine and relaxation all on one street. With Carlisle Bay running alongside its entire length, this street is opened up to many windowsto-the-sea featuring yachts and tankers at anchor.Back in the seventeenth century, the Dutch enjoyed strong connections with Bay Street through shipping and trading. So much so that in the 1640s, the first 10 acres of land on the seaside were bought by a Dutch merchant.https://www.barbadospocketguide.com/our-island-barbados/bridgetown/bay-street.html

Brownes Beach in Barbados is an excellent place from which to observe both Bajan life and tourism. It overlooks Carlisle Bay, with its colourful array of small boats and catamarans ready to transport passengers for a few hours or a day trip at sea. Look out for some impressive yachts as well - the Barbados Yacht Club is on adjoining Pebbles Beach, the area's calm waters providing perfect anchorage conditions. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person.

However, as an Author, Student of Film, License Cultural Practitioner and Publisher through my lens I have framed A Portrait of the Sun © 2020 Vol. 1 because the Sun warms our seas, stirs our atmosphere, generates our weather patterns, and gives energy to the growing green plants that provide the food and oxygen for life on Earth. We know the Sun through its heat and light, but other, less obvious aspects of the Sun affect Earth and society.

CHAPTER 39 CONCLUSIONS

Overall, A Portrait of the Sun © 2020 Vol. 1 is not only a cultural cliche but a conversation that draws our attention to the fact that a portrait is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant.
