Blake Shelton, Nikki Bella and Carson Daly

BARMAGEDDON

NEW SERIES! For his fi rst onscreen project since announcing he was leaving The Voice (his last season will be in spring of 2023), country star Blake Shelton and Voice costar Carson Daly invite their celebrity friends to compete in a new reality TV game show set in Shelton’s Nashville bar, Ole Red. With Daly behind the bar and WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella as host, viewers will get a front-row seat to watch as celebrities let loose and compete in various bar games, such as Air Cannon Cornhole, Keg Curling and Drunken Axe Hole. In each episode, two celebrities play against one another on behalf of a viral internet sensation of their choosing (someone who rose from obscurity on the internet due to some misadventure or embarrassment). Ultimately, the winning team takes home a prize while the losing celebrity must accept the shame of defeat. Here are a few of the matchups announced already: Gwen Stefani vs. Sheryl Crow, Elle King vs. Chris Young, Clint Bowyer vs. Jimmie Johnson, Sasha Banks vs. Brie Bella, Jay Pharoah vs. Martin Kove, Trace Adkins vs. Coach Mike Vrabel, Blake Shelton vs. Kane Brown and Lil Rel Howery vs. Malin Akerman. May the best bar baddie win! Premieres on USA Network Mondays beginning Dec. 5

GUILLERMO DEL TORO’S PINOCCHIO

ORIGINAL FILM!

Academy Award winner Guillermo del Toro joins forces with codirector Mark Gustafson (Fantastic Mr. Fox) to bring the classic tale of Pinocchio to the screen through stop-motion animation.

The voice cast includes newcomer Gregory Mann as Pinocchio, Ewan McGregor as Cricket and David Bradley as Geppetto. Alongside the main cast are a slew of the best in the business including Tilda Swinton, Christoph Waltz, Finn Wolfhard, Cate Blanchett, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson and Burn Gorman.

Pinocchio has long been a passion project for del Toro. He opined, “After years of pursuing this dream project, I found my perfect partner in Netfl ix. We have spent a long time curating a remarkable cast and crew and have been blessed by continuous support from Netfl ix to quietly and carefully soldier on, barely missing a beat. We all love and practice animation with great passion and believe it to be the ideal medium to retell this classic story in a completely new way.” Premieres on Netfl ix Friday, Dec. 9

GLASS ONION: A KNIVES OUT MYSTERY

Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is back as a new whodunit is upon him with a new group of suspects and layers to peel back to fi nd the truth.

Just how does this detective end up at a lavish private estate on a Greek island? It’s only the fi rst mystery to solve.

An amazing cast of characters has assembled at the annual reunion hosted by billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton). Former business partner Andi Brand (Janelle Monáe), current Connecticut Gov. Claire Debella (Kathryn Hahn), scientist Lionel Toussaint (Leslie Odom Jr.), fashion designer and model Birdie Jay (Kate Hudson), Jay’s assistant Peg (Jessica Henwick), infl uencer Duke Cody (Dave Bautista) and Duke’s sidekick girlfriend Whiskey (Madelyn Cline) are all present for the proceedings.

Each character has their own set of secrets. Finding the truth through the lies and ulterior motives that everyone displays will be vital to solving a murder when someone turns up dead. Everyone is a suspect, but with Detective Benoit Blanc on the case, the truth will become known.

With Academy Award-nominated director Rian Johnson back to helm this new installment in the Knives Out franchise and Craig back as Blanc, the fi lm is set up for success and will undoubtedly lead to more mystery fun.
