Museum Of The Moon in Lichfield this autumn Artist Luke Jerram’s touring artwork, Museum Of The Moon, will spend more than a month of the autumn suspended in the nave of Lichfield Cathedral. A fusion of lunar imagery and moonlight, with surround-sound composition created by Bafta and Ivor Novello award-winning composer Dan Jones, the installation visits the cathedral from 21 September to 31 October. Midlands to host massparticipation tap dance

A mass-participation tap-dancing and storytelling ‘extravaganza’ is taking place in Birmingham’s Brindleyplace next month (18 June) as part of Birmingham 2022 Festival and Birmingham International Dance Festival. Celebrating ‘the stories of the West Midlands and the people who call it home’, Tappin’ In aims to bring people together ‘to get the region tap dancing and chatting about themselves whilst having a good time’. New Stourbridge Glass Museum now open...

Key attractions include 2.5D digital animations and audio - which take visitors back in time 200 years to a Stourbridge glass works - hundreds of pieces from the 17th century onward, and live glassmaking by leading artist Allister Malcolm and his team.

Community groups to benefit from Jubilee fund

Heart of England Community Foundation is awarding 47 grants - totalling £330,787 - to voluntary and community organisations in the West Midlands and Warwickshire. The money is being donated from Arts Council England’s Let’s Create Jubilee Fund, an initiative which ensures that thousands of people from communities across England will have the opportunity to take part in creative events celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Tony Hadley to open Lichfield Festival 2022 Pop icon Tony Hadley will kickstart Lichfield Festival’s 40th anniversary celebrations this summer with a concert at the city’s cathedral on Thursday 7 July. This year’s festival, which runs for 11 days at various venues across Lichfield (until 17 July) also features singer-songwriter Ayanna Witter-Johnson, Ballet Cymru, folk group The Longest Johns, comedian Zoe Lyons, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Brodsky Quartet, cellist Steven Isserlis, and jazz favourites James Pearson & Lizzie Ball. Watercolour Masters in the West Midlands Shropshire’s Lilleshall Hall is this month hosting a prestigious exhibition celebrating the work of some of the world’s greatest watercolour painters. International Watercolour Masters sees 42 artists displaying their work from Monday 16 to Sunday 29 May. Practical demonstrations by the Masters will take place on most days of the exhibition.
