Live music from across the region...

Rebecca Loebe The Hive, Shrewsbury, Sun 15 May

“I like to write catchy songs about topics that are meaningful to me, but use fun hooks to put words in people’s mouths,” says Austinbased troubadour Rebecca Loebe. “My favourite thing is to get people singing along before they even realise they’re singing about women’s equality or their own self-worth.” A contestant on TNBC’s The Voice, Rebecca here presents her interactive storytelling concert adventure, True Songs And A Lie. The show sees her perform original songs about her life on the road. Then, at the end of the gig, the audience has to guess which story is a dirty rotten fib. Good fun.

“We’re definitely a melting pot of different experiences, different backgrounds and different cultures,” explains guitarist Ori Naftaly, the founder of Memphis five-piece Southern Avenue. “It’s hard to put us in a box, both literally and musically. Southern

Multi-award-winning and critically acclaimed singer & virtuoso guitarist Martin embraces genres ranging from blues to folk, as well as playing his own compositions. Andy, meanwhile, is a technically gifted melodeon player with a self-deprecating wit and a keen ear for a fine tune. If you love folk music, you’ll love this.

Bowling For Soup The Sugarmill, Stoke-on-Trent, Wed 25 May

Bowling For Soup singalong! All the hits! The fan favourites! And the ones we all sing in the shower!”

Danni Nicholls Henry Tudor House, Shrewsbury, Thurs 26 May

After two tour postponements, Americana singer-songwriter Danni Nicholls is finally hitting the road with her Hear Your Voice tour, which will see her performing songs from third studio album The Melted Morning as well as favourites from across her critically acclaimed back catalogue. Having toured with and opened for artists such as Shakin' Stevens, Lucinda Williams and The Secret Sisters, Danni’s spellbinding performances are guaranteed to melt your heart into the soles of your boots.

Half of Grammy-nominated Texan pop punk favourites Bowling For Soup - frontman Jaret Reddick and bassist Rob Felicetti - are returning to the UK for a special acoustic singalong. “Our last few acoustic tours have been filled with emotion, heartbreak, heartache and a bit of funny,” say Jaret and Rob, “but this tour is all about fun! We’ve all been locked away and separated in our own ways, and it’s time to come together and have a

Avenue doesn’t sound like anybody else, and that’s something that I’m very proud of.” The group are appearing in the Midlands in support of their third album, Be The Love You Want, which sees them exploring ‘bold new ideas of what it means to be a blues band in the modern world’.
