Roddy Woomble The Tin Music & Arts, Coventry, Thurs 7 October
Known for his enigmatic lyrics and warm baritone voice, Roddy Woomble has spent the past two decades fronting much-loved Scottish alternative rock band Idlewild, with whom he’s recorded nine studio albums. He’s also managed to release six solo albums during that time, including My Secret Is My Silence (2006), Listen To Keep (2013) and The Deluder (2017). Latest offering Lo! Soul was released earlier this year.
Sarathy Korwar US-born, Indian-raised, London-based percussionist & producer Sarathy Korwar has established himself as one of the most original and compelling voices on the UK
jazz scene. Leading the music group UPAJ Collective, Sarathy makes music that brings together Indian classical orchestration, freejazz improvisation and, latterly, hip-hop - all of which were present and correct on second studio album More Arriving, released two years ago and widely praised for its ‘bursts of reggae wooziness’.

Best known for hit singles African & White, Christian, Working With Fire And Steel, Black Man Ray and Wishful Thinking, Liverpool band China Crisis are back on the road. Founding members Eddie Lundon and Gary Daly formed the band in 1980, releasing debut album Difficult Shapes And Passive Rhythms two years later, since which time they’ve landed five top-40 and 10 top-50 singles and five top-40 albums.
Former X-Factor contestants Crissie Rhodes and Ben Earle came together to form country-pop duo The Shires in 2013, since which time they’ve enjoyed plenty of success. The pair were the first homegrown British country act to break into the UK album chart’s top 10 - with debut offering Brave - while follow-up endeavour My Universe was the fastest-selling UK country album of all time, reaching the numberthree spot. They also became the first ever English country act to be signed to a major Nashville label (Universal Music Group Nashville), and the first to receive an award from the American Country Music Association. They appear in Leamington as part of an intimate acoustic tour.

To celebrate the release of number-one album Evering Road, singer-songwriter Tom Grennan visits Coventry this month to present a special launch show. Having quit professional football to pursue his love of music, Tom found fame as the guest vocalist on Chase & Status' All Goes Wrong in 2016. Evering Road is the Bedford-born performer’s first chart-topping effort and features singles This Is The Place and Little Bit Of Love. The deluxe edition also includes the single, Let's Go Home Together, with Ella Henderson.

Electropop duo Andy Bell and Vince Clarke aka Erasure - are celebrating the release of 18th studio album The Neon with a new UK tour, complete with this Birmingham stopoff. “The Neon is a place that lives in the imagination,” say the boys, “a place that we - you and me - put in the real world. It could be a nightclub, a shop, a city, a cafe, a country, a bedroom, a restaurant or any place at all. It’s a place of possibility, in warm, glowing light - and this is music that takes you there.”
