Exhibition explores the story of Indian dance Stories, photographs, films and objects all feature in a new exhibition at Wolverhampton Art Gallery which explores the story of Indian dance in the Black Country during the second half of the 20th century. Nritya Black Country celebrates the Indian subcontinent migrants who, having journeyed to the UK to begin a new life, used temples, community halls and cultural events to present their classical, folk and traditional dance styles. The exhibition, which shows until Sunday 20 December, has been curated by the award-winning Wolverhampton arts organisation, Jaivant Patel Dance.

Baby Show goes online

‘A truly traditional Christmas to remember’ is on the cards at Blists Hill Victorian Town this year. The award-winning Ironbridge venue is turning back the clock and recreating the celebrations of an authentic Victorian Christmas. The 2020 edition of The Baby Show has gone online as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Shropshire business expands to meet demand A food & drink delivery company based in Shrewsbury has expanded its business and is now providing support to local independent retailers. British Ironwork Centre launches climate crisis initiative for school kids Oswestry’s British Ironwork Centre has teamed up with Telford & Wrekin Council to create a project designed to better educate school children about the importance of protecting oceans and marine life. The Ocean Trail Project features 26 fish sculptures, each of which has been primed and readied to be painted/decorated by school students. Each participating school will receive a fish, which they must paint and/or decorate using their chosen design. Once the project is completed and all decorated fish have been handed to the council, a sculpture trail will be created across Telford Town Centre.
