elcome to the Cairngorms National Park and the September edition of the What’s On, the free events guide.

To help you make the most of your time here we’ve put together an essential guide packed with what’s happening in the area. We’ve got some great ideas for things to do, places to see, where to eat and drink, and places to stay. September kicks off with the historic Braemar Gathering on the 1st, a chance to see traditional highland games amongst royalty. On the same day Carrbridge holds their annual Chainsaw carving competition ‘Carve Carrbridge’, a great day out for all the family. Motor Mania returns to Grantown on Spey on the 2nd as hundreds of classic cars descend on the town. From the 21st-23rd golfers can take part in the new 54 Hole Belhaven Speyside Golf Open Weekend (booking essential) a great opportunity to play three of our local courses; Grantown on Spey, Spey Valley & Boat of Garten. Finally don’t forget to book your tickets for the Whisky tasting event aboard the Strathspey Steam Railway on the 29th! The Cairngorms National Park has something for everyone.
