SECRET GARDEN TOUR 

Join the Secret Garden Tour beginning at Hammond Harwood House on June 10th and 11th from noon to 5 p.m. This tour will allow you to wander private gardens in Annapolis’ Historic District along Prince George Street, King George Street, Maryland Avenue, Hanover Street, and surrounding locations. These areas have beautiful collections of homes built in various period and architectural styles, including some of the great colonial mansions.  Let’s Go! Music Festival

Let’s Go! Music Festival is back for Maryland music lovers! The festival will be June 2nd through 4th at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds in Crownsville and will include Chris Young, Collective Soul, Kip Moore, Priscilla Block, Larry Fleet, and many more in the lineup. BANDS IN THE SAND 

Get ready for a night of entertainment on June 10th at Philip Merrill Environmental Center in Annapolis. Each summer 1,600 guests gather on the beach, dance the night away, and raise a drink to Save the Bay. This party of the year is vital to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s mission. Annapolis Pride Parade

Pride month is here and since June 2019, Annapolis Pride has hosted a parade and festival on West Street in Annapolis. This year’s parade will be held on June 3rd to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and embrace diversity in Annapolis. The theme will be Express Yourself: Protecting LGBTQ+ Youth and will travel from Amos Garret Boulevard to West Street, ending at Calvert Street. The festival will be held on the portion of West Street from Calvert Street to Church Circle. Find more information on annapolispride.com.

 New Board Officers for St. Michaels Community Center

The St. Michaels Community Center recently announced five new members have joined its Board of Directors, with this year’s officers also named. Board officers are Chair Langley Shook, Vice Chair Lori Morris, Secretary Karen Footner, and Treasurer Parker Spurry. Newly elected to a two-year Board term are Directors Pam Bernstein, Chris Moyer, Lisa Sweetney-Swint, Susan Thomas, and Joan Wetmore. “We count our Board of Directors among the volunteers who serve at the core of everything we do,” said St. Michaels Community Center Executive Director Patrick Rofe. “We’re grateful for our Board’s leadership, direction, and fundraising to help ensure local children and families have the resources they need.” Learn more at stmichaelscc.org.

CONGRATULATIONS TO GUNSTON SCHOOL SWIM TEAM 

The Gunston School sent 18 swimmers to the inaugural Eastern Shore Independent Athletic Conference (ESIAC) Swim Invitational at the YMCA in Cambridge, held this past February. Competing in 20 events against five other ESIAC schools, including Delmarva Christian (48), Worcester Prep (141), Salisbury School (86), and Saints Peter & Paul (52), Gunston’s Boys team finished in first place with a score of 206. The girls’ team narrowly missed the top spot but provided arguably the highlight of the meet in their come-from-behind win in the 400 freestyle relay. Swimming will likely now be permanently added to Gunston’s athletic offerings that also includes crew, sailing, cross country, triathlon, field hockey, golf, tennis, futsal, soccer, lacrosse, basketball, pickleball, and volleyball. Tcps Students Earn Cna Credentials

A cohort of 14 high school juniors and seniors have officially earned Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credentials. The students completed 100 theory hours, 40 clinical hours, and an exam as required by the Maryland Board of Nursing with a 100 percent pass rate. Talbot County Public Schools implemented the CNA program in 2021 through funding from the Maryland Career and Technology Education Innovation grant. The program is offered at Easton High, and is also open to students from St. Michaels Middle High through cross campus transportation. The students who successfully completed the program are: Torian Copper, Emily Dickinson, Makenzie Ewing, Karlee Holly, Jazaiah Jackson, Peyton Jones, Ka’Niya Joseph, Katelyn Martin, Abigail Meadows, Ava Moore, Nai’ema Pierce, Ty’Mira Pinkett, Reagan Saia, and Gizelle San.  OSS Welcomes New Doctor

Oral Surgery Specialists recently welcomed the addition of Kenneth Kufta, DMD, MD to the practice, which serves residents in the greater Annapolis and Chesapeake Bay region. Dr. Kufta graduated Cum Laude from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he also obtained his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating at the top of his medical school class. He became certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2023. Learn more at annapolisoss.com.
