If you remember anything…
College should be full of adventure—new ideas, new friends, new opportunities. The college search can be an adventure as well. There is so much information to remember about so many different colleges. We hope you enjoy your visit to Wheaton. Here are some things we hope you will remember about us: 1. Wheaton provides a strong sense of community, connection and collaboration. Wheaton students make great connections with others in our community. Many of our students have life-changing relationships with faculty who set them on a new course or help them develop a personal passion. This in-depth collaboration and high-impact learning is an especially important facet of the Wheaton experience.
2. Wheaton lives at the intersection of the classical liberal arts and sciences and practical, real-world experiential learning. The Wheaton Edge isn’t just a phrase. It’s a combination of internships, independent research, leadership development, access to cutting-edge technology and resources and interdisciplinary, hands-on learning that gives students the chance to link classroom theory to real-world applications. And it’s all backed by Wheaton’s more than $1.2 million annual investment to ensure funding for beyond-the-classroom learning experiences.
3. Wheaton helps create changemakers. We have a longstanding commitment to promoting equality, equity, inclusion and social justice, reflected in faculty and student research, campus programming and curriculum. Recent developments in this area include receiving a $10 million grant to support social entrepreneurship—encouraging students to develop innovative solutions to global issues—and programs such as Three Freedoms, which promotes thoughtful conversation and celebrates diverse perspectives around important topics. 4. Wheaton helps students generate powerful outcomes. Wheaton grads succeed in the world beyond our campus. Just six months after graduating, 97 percent of Wheaton alumni are employed, enrolled in graduate school, engaged in meaningful internships or service. Since 2000, we have produced 3 Rhodes Scholars, 107 Fulbright Fellows, 18 Watson Fellows, 6 Truman Scholars, and many additional prestigious award winners. A Wheaton education provides a powerful springboard to a wide array of exciting career and graduate school possibilities.
