THE ITALIAN RENAISSANCE ON SHOW
EXHIBITION The works of the Renaissance artist Giovan Francesco Caroto are on show at the Palazzo della Gran Guardia. This is the first exhibition dedicated to the artist, seen in comparison with his contemporaries, who travelled among the courts of Northern Italy in a period of lively flowering of the arts, archaeology, natural sciences and collecting. The exhibition “Caroto and the arts, from Mantegna to Veronese” offers to the public over 100 works from some of the most prestigious Italian and foreign collections, bearing witness to the great painter’s development in the first half of the 16th century. The exhibition is divided into 10 sections, enriched by 3 innovative multimedia installations with projections and immersive reconstructions of contexts. In order to make the visit even more enjoyable, there is a didactic support accessible through an App in Italian and English, as well as an augmented reality game. The exhibition is accompanied by an itinerary through the city of Verona, in the places and churches that preserve the testimonies of Caroto and the early 16th century in Verona, which can be appreciated in their original contexts.
