WINNERS ANNOUNCED FOR OUR PREVIOUS SCRAVIR BOOK COMPETITION

Recently, the Whitby Advertiser published a book review of the new Gothic novel ’Scravir’ which allegedly is outselling fish ’n’ chips here in Whitby!

With the book review we ran a competition offering three signed first editions of the book as prizes. The names of the three lucky winners are:

Cath Meek, Julie Curry and Susan Atkinson!

Congratulations ladies - we hope you enjoyed your books!

‘Scravir’ continues to sell well - have you got your copy yet? I thoroughly enjoyed the book - it’s a fastpaced modern thriller set in Whitby during the Goth Weekend and I must sat that it’s a real page turner, a book you simply have to keep on reading until you reach the end! Locally, you can buy Scravir at The Whitby Shop on Church Street (opposite Great Reads), the Whitby Bookshop (also on Church Street) and Holmans Bookshop on Skinner Street. You can also purchase a copy at the bookshop in Grosmont and at the Book Corner in Saltburn, and also online. Priced at just £9.99, it makes a great Christmas stocking filler!

Stop Press! A sequel to Scravir is being written! Watch out for further announcements from the publishers Injini Press in 2022! Also, the author C.M. Vassie is currently putting together a collection of tall tales about Whitby which will be published early in 2022. The tall tales book is a mixture of stories - some humorous, some ghostly, all intense - set at various locations around the town. The book includes a handy map so people can wander about and see the landmarks in a different light. Watch out for further details in the Whitby Advertiser soon, and of course a chance to win a signed copy or two!
