God's Church Helpers 1Timothy 3:1-1; Acts 14:23 .....If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work, A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, and apt to teach. Today's topical message is a continuation from Tuesday's discussion of the Holy Spirit working through church leaders and for the next two days we will focus on church leaders. Today's focus is officers of the church and specifically deacon/bishops as these qualifications intertwine in moral character and righteous living. What this is really speaking to is the moral character of church helpers mainly deacons as they are to be ready and willing to teach God's people what thus saith the Lord. According to scriptures their lifestyles must be that of moral character. This is because deacons are considered a leadership position in the church as he/she is to aid the pastor in leading the church in holy living. Other church helpers are trustees and other ministry leaders who have been selected by the pastor as he was directed by the Holy Spirit. Church leaders must set an example to the congregation in holy living manifesting the life and humility of Christ (1 Timothy 4:12; 1 Peter 5:3).The congregation must see their leaders' steadfast faith in God as this example must be worthy of the congregation following them as they follow Christ. Let's close this segment of our discussion by saying church leaders and helpers are to serve with honest, integrity, humility and faithfulness to the church and his or her spouse. Church helpers it is a privilege to serve in God's house; therefore, serve to glorify Him.
