Walk Worthy Of God's Calling
Today's message taken from this month's devotional Heavenly Bread published on Amazon's CreateSpace and Kindle. Thanks for allowing me to share uplifting insights with you. Please share. 1 Thessalonians 2:11-12 As you know how we exhorted and comforted and charged everyone of you, as a father doth his children. That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto His kingdom and glory. The Apostle Paul is encouraging the believers at Thessalonica to remember who called them out of darkness and for that an expression of gratitude by honoring our Lord with holy living. In an earlier writing all were encouraged to do all that we do to the glory of God for the very reason Paul is explaining to the believers at Thessalonica. This should be the practice of believers everywhere. We walking worthy of God because: (a) all mankind is the highest order of His creation, (b) We are created in His image and likeness, (c) He chose all believers to be part of His holy nation of priests, (d) being a believer we are members of His family, (e) we are coheirs with Christ, (f) we will spend eternity with Him, and (g) will reign with Christ in the New Jerusalem. We walk worthy of God because of His agape love and unmerited favor when justice was demanded, but mercy took its place. We walk worthy of God because of His longsuffering and willingness to forgive us as often as we sin and ask for forgiveness. Walk worthy of God as He is the creator and sustainer of the universe and all therein.
