Driver’s Education I

Leader: Tracy Blunier

Dates: June 5 - 9

Time: 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Cost: $295

Grades: Rising 9th - 12th grades

The Georgia Department of Driver Services requires a state approved 30 hour Drivers Education course for all 16 year olds in order for them to receive their driver’s license. This course may be taken before or after the student receives their learner’s permit. This course will not include actual on the road driver training. Please note this course is licensed through the State of Georgia Department of Driver Services

Passaportes Spanish Camp

Leader: Allison Krichko

Dates: June 5 - 9

Time: 8:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m.

Cost: $180

Grades: Rising 1st - 4th grades

Every morning your camper will arrive to a new Spanish speaking country to use the language, learn culture, and experience the sights, food, art, music and games of that country.

College Essay Writing I

Leader: Caroline Kraehe, English Department Chair

Dates: June 12 - 16

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Cost: $285

Grades: Rising Whitefield Academy 12th graders only

During the College Essay Writing camp students will learn to develop and construct a well-written personal essay for their college applications. While the primary objective of the week is for each student to have written, edited, 20 and finalized at least one essay, other goals include developing students’ writing skills and helping them become more reflective thinkers about the significance of their individual life stories This highly participatory camp will cycle through periods of direct instruction, reading example essays, brainstorming, drafting, editing, and workshopping with the group as a whole. Students may bring their laptops

Whitefield Invention

Dates: June 12 - June 16

Time: 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Cost: $300

Grades: Rising 1st - Rising 2nd and Rising 3rd - Rising 4th

A FUN and ENGAGING camp for students to explore their sense of wonder by using science, technology, engineering, art, and math to create inventions and experiments while learning more about the world around them.

Do you want to be the first to know all about "First Grade"? Join us for a FUN and exciting week as we explore all the things you need to know about "First Grade". The course will involve multi-sensory activities, phonics games, and exploring daily literature experiences. Camp is open to rising first graders or completed first graders that want a review before second grade. Whitefield and Non-Whitefield students are welcome. See you there!!

A Peek into Kindergarten

A fun week for your child to get a peek into what they will be learning in kindergarten. We will play games, read books, do crafts, practice writing, and so much more!

Fifth Grade Bootcamp

Leader: Melinda Lee and Sarah David

Dates: July 24 - 28

Time: 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Cost: $200

Grades: Rising 5th Grade

Miss Lee and Mrs David will do a quick review of some key concepts we learned the past school year This will allow students to come back to school with a bit more CONFIDENCE and EASE! The three subjects we’ll focus on will be math, grammar, and reading Each day, campers will go through some RIGOROUS training, reminding them of skills they learned, including; multiplication, division, fractions, and MORE! We will go back over pattern 1, 2, and 3 sentences to help “oil” those rusty grammar brains! Students will be reminded of the reading areas we covered last school year (character, theme, cause/effect, similes, metaphors, alliteration, and the list goes on!)! But wait… there’s MORE! Former fifth graders will help show their successors some helpful things about what to expect, organization tips, and get the campers EXCITED about the upcoming school year! THIS CAMP IS GOING TO ROCK!!!

What to bring: folder, pencil, snack, and water bottle each day

Third Grade Rocks!

Chess Camp

Enjoy playing chess? Want to learn? Beginning or experienced campers will learn tactics, practice openings and endgame strategy, and enjoy playing with friends. Includes tournament-style play, Bughouse (team chess), and SmartBoard instruction.
