Nova Music Theatre presents

Dr Zhivago In the early 20th century, revolution is stirring in Russia. Doctor Zhivago, aristocrat by birth, political idealist and poet, is married with children but finds himself drawn from his family physically by politics and emotionally by the alluring Lara Antipov. As war in Russia rages on and the love story between Zhivago and the passionate and mysterious Lara escalates in complexity, life becomes complicated. Zhivago, not alone in his yearnings for Lara, must compete with both revolutionaries and aristocracy alike to win the heart of the woman he cannot live without. Based on the award winning classic novel and film, this is a sweeping saga of heartbreaking romance and revolution during the final days of Czarist Russia.

Cole A life of hedonism, grave misfortune, enduring love and a legacy that sparkles with wit and wisdom is the extraordinary life of Cole Porter, beautifully explored in this tour de force performance. Helpmann award winner Michael Griffiths explores the colourful life and timeless songs of Cole Porter including You’re The Top, It’s De-Lovely, Let’s Do It and Night And Day. Cole premiered at the 2015 Adelaide Cabaret Festival by invitation of Barry Humphries and was the top rated cabaret show Edinburgh Fringe 2016. Step back in time for a night of glorious cabaret.

The Utassy Ballet School proudly presents their Junior performance of The Circus and their Senior performance of the classic ballet The Yellow Submarine. Accompanying works include Diane Parrington’s Pas de Quatre from the Romantic Era, Songs of the Auvergne and two new pieces by choreographers Katherine Horner and Rochelle Carmichael (Liquid Skin). The Global Celebration for 2018 visits Africa, Hungary, Ireland, Spain, the Carpathian Mountains and more. Please join us also in celebrating the beauty of some VCE work from this year.

Box Hill Ballet Association presents

Dragon Dreaming A young girl falls asleep over her favourite book and begins to dream...She and her friends are sitting in the moonlit garden when they notice tiny wisps of smoke coming from a nearby bush. Going to investigate they find a baby dragon crying because she is lost. They befriend her, promising to help her find her way home. The journey takes them far away to many places...the sea, the outback, high mountain peaks, bushlands, wetlands, the high plains...Will they succeed in their search? Accompanying the performance will be various classical, jazz, tap, contemporary and international dance items.

Celebrating 30 years touring professional productions around Australia, Promac Productions returns to our stage with a fantastic show to get everyone in the festive spirit. Leading a cast of four will be star tenor Roy Best who will herald in Christmas 2018 with some of the finest carols and Christmas songs ever written. Chris McKenna will compere and lead some fantastic sing-a-longs, with plenty of laughs included. Don’t miss this perfect way to embrace the Christmas spirit!

The City of Whitehorse Band presents

Christmas with the Band The City of Whitehorse Band will be playing your favourite carols at their annual Christmas concert plus music from film, stage and big bands. There will be a special guest artist. Don’t miss this very popular festive event proudly supported by the City of Whitehorse.

Whitehorse Carols Santa Claus is coming to town and so are a host of wonderful performers including popular entertainer Rob Mills and Verity Hunt-Ballard. Beloved children’s act The Mik Maks will open the event, followed by performances from the National Boys Choir, the local jazz talents of the Blackburn High School Senior Jazz Orchestra and the Combined Churches of North Blackburn. Santa and his elves will be there from 4.30pm for photos before leaving for his around-the-world sleigh ride.

Whitehorse Australia Day Concert and Fireworks

The music of international superstar Adele comes to Whitehorse as Civic Gardens former The Voice contestant Naomi 379 Whitehorse Price headlines a wonderful night of Road, Nunawading entertainment. Back by popular Free Event demand will be Like This with their collection of lively tunes, along with the blues fuelled Intrepid Hounds. The angelic voices of the Australian Girls’ Choir will perform the national anthem and brass band All Day Fritz will delight the kids. This stunning night of entertainment will end with a bang with a 10-minute fireworks finale.
