Winter Concert Keep the winter chills at bay and join the City of Whitehorse Band for an enjoyable afternoon of music. The Band will entertain with pieces from their vast brass repertoire through to disco tunes. The special guest is Don Stevenson, who will play guitar and delight you with his ballads and humorous songs. Sing your heart out to the electric 80s and join the revolution for change and equality in the 90s. Henry V Damien Ryan’s vision for Henry V is inspired by a true story – in 1941, for 57 consecutive nights during the London Blitz, a group of boys trapped in a bunker rehearsed and performed plays including the works of Shakespeare. In this gripping new Henry V, a talented young cast tell the story of a king who unites his ‘band of brothers’ and a nation with his eloquent words and ideas, his triumphs and humanity. When the battle is won, this production will leave you feeling uplifted and exhilarated with the belief that the impossible is possible. The Melbourne Welsh Male Choir
Singer of the Year 2014 and Concert The Melbourne Welsh Male Choir is steeped in Welsh Choral tradition but still is proudly Australian. They have performed in South Africa, Canada, Wales and London’s Royal Albert Hall. Through its annual Singer of the Year competition for young singers the choir fosters new talent, with many of the winners currently performing on the world stage. The four finalists for 2014 will perform at this concert, with the winner to be announced at the end of the night's program. Still Awake Still! School Holiday Entertainment One grand piano, three mad-cap musicians and a most peculiar dream.... Miss Ivory Tinklefinger, Queen of Sleep, is hired to sing the audience to sleep, but tonight her piano has a mind of its own. Her lullabies come alive – and the consequences are wild! Dennis Earl – It’s My Time Singer, songwriter and entertainer Dennis Earl will take you on a musical journey with his modern interpretation of ‘cabaret’. Teaming with renowned composer Craig Bryant and a live band, Dennis will have you singing along to a diverse compilation of songs, bringing back the true meaning of live entertainment. Crazy For You Crazy For You is a high-energy, all-singing, all-dancing musical featuring the songs of George and Ira Gershwin. The story moves between Broadway and Deadrock Nirvana with hilarious plot twists, a mistaken identity and big tap-dancing numbers. Based on the 1930s show Girl Crazy, it won the Tony Award for best musical in 1992. Cats Based on “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats” by T.S. Eliot, Cats tells the story, in song and dance, of the annual gathering of Jellicle cats, at which time one special cat is selected to ascend to the Heaviside Layer. A true musical theatre phenomenon, Cats opened at London's New London Theatre on 11 May 1981 and ran for a record-setting 21 years.
