An Intimate Evening with David Hobson As one of Australia’s best known operatic and recording artists, David Hobson’s unique talents have enabled him to sing for Queen Elizabeth II, win Dancing with the Stars and play such diverse roles as Rodolfo in La Bohème and Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. This entertaining evening of fine music making highlights a collection of arias and songs from his diverse career and spans the genres of Opera, Music Theatre and Contemporary repertoire. Accompanied by talented pianist and guitarist David Cameron.


Nova Music Theatre presents

Godspell Based on the Gospel according to Matthew, Godspell is the first musical theatre offering from composer Full $42 Stephen Schwartz who went on Conc $38 to write such well-known hits as Child $35 Wicked and Children of Eden. The Group (10+) $35 show features a comedic troupe of eccentric players who team up with Jesus to teach his lessons in a new age through parables, games and tomfoolery. Godspell includes the international hit Day by Day as well as an eclectic blend of songs ranging from pop to vaudeville, as Jesus’ life is played out on stage. 19 – 27 May

In this Academy-award nominated classic Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire join forces, lending their song and dance talents to a timeless musical. Fashion magazine photographer Dick Avery (Astaire) discovers the unique face of bookseller Jo Stockton (Hepburn), who is quickly transformed into a global supermodel. A stylish musical comedy ensues as the snobbish Hepburn finds herself falling for the handsome photographer.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang When inventor Caractacus Potts buys an old racing car to restore for his children, little does he Full $44 realise that he is creating the Conc $40 fantasmagorical Chitty Chitty Child $36 Bang Bang – the car that swims, Group (10+) $38 flies and might even save the day. Based on Ian Fleming’s novel, with music by the Sherman Brothers, this family favourite includes big dance numbers and unforgettable songs like Truly Scrumptious, Hushabye Mountain and of course the Oscar-nominated title song. Always…Patsy Cline

Celebrate the life and music of one of the greatest female vocalists of all time with one of America’s most loved musicals! Always…Patsy Cline is Full $48 Conc $45 more than a tribute to the legendary Under 25 $25 country singer; it is a true story based on Cline’s friendship with a fan from Houston named Louise Seger. This friendship began in a Texas honky-tonk in 1961 and continued via correspondence until Cline’s tragic death in 1963. This wonderful musical, complete with country humour, true emotion and even some audience participation, includes 27 of Patsy’s unforgettable hits such as Crazy, I Fall to Pieces and Walking After Midnight. The show’s title was inspired by Cline’s letters to Seger, which were consistently signed off “Love ALWAYS… Patsy Cline”. Saturday 24 June 2pm & 8pm

We’re Going on a Bear Hunt is the wonderful story of a family out for a walk and on the lookout for a growling bear. This mini-musical captures the fun and frolics of a father who is clearly still a child at heart. Thérèse Raquin

Thérèse Raquin is a superb examination of corrupted morals, set in the notoriously dingy Full $48 backstreets of Paris in the late Conc $45 Under 25 $25 19th century. Thérèse lives a life of servitude and is married off to her sickly cousin in a loveless, arranged marriage. But her life is suddenly turned around when her husband’s friend Laurent arrives, and they begin a passionate, feverish affair. What follows in this masterpiece of French literature makes for a gripping, corseted thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat. Saturday 15 July 2pm & 8pm

Philip Gould heads a talented cast of performers in this wonderful narrative tribute to Lloyd Webber, Elton John, Richard Rogers and many more great composers Full $18 whose music has shone on the Group (10+) $16 London stage. Joining him will be Michelle Fitzmaurice and Philip Wheeldon, with Robyn Wommersley on piano. Musicals such as Evita, Cats, Phantom of the Opera and Les Misérables will be highlighted in this great show, in what will be a feast for all musical theatre lovers. Exposing Edith

Winner of Best Cabaret Adelaide Fringe 2016 and nominated for a Helpmann award, Exposing Edith Full $48 Conc $45 charts the tragic life of arguably the Under 25 $25 greatest French singer of all time, Edith Piaf. Experience her life, loves and losses through the songs that shot her to stardom. Exposing Edith is a stunning mix of authentic French chanson and contemporary sounds. Having explored the undertones of Piaf’s vocals and lyrics, Michaela Burger and Greg Wain have created their own unique interpretations of Piaf’s work. Songs are punctuated with a collection of extraordinary stories of Piaf’s life. Burger takes on a multitude of key characters, from Edith’s half-sister Momone, to several of her lovers and of course, Edith Piaf herself.
