Edzell Golf Club
There are an abundance of magnificent golf courses in the Angus region of Scotland. Known as the ‘Cradle of Golf’ in Scotland, the ancient county of Angus stretches through spectacular countryside, picturesque villages and vibrant towns, from the hills and glens to the coast and Tay Estuary.
Angus is home to the fifth oldest golf course in the world, Montrose Golf Links, and, just twelve miles north of Dundee, lies the championship golf course at Carnoustie which first hosted the Open in 1921.
Boasting a fantastic blend of links and heathland golf courses, Angus’ narrow fairways, long carries and undulating greens are a common characteristic of the landscape. The sweeping terrain and spectacular views make the region a highly recommended destination for a golf break.
Although there are a number of historic golf courses in the Angus region, by no means are the newer courses suffering. Set in the delightful village of Edzell –multiple winner of the national Britain in Bloom Competition – and ideally situated midway between Dundee and Aberdeen, Edzell Golf Club stands at the gateway of the Angus Glens reaching in to the foothills of the Grampian Mountains.

Designed by golf course architect, Bob Simpson, the course at Edzell was originally laid out in 1895 and amended some thirty years later in line with recommendations from the legendary James Braid.
More recently, it has been sympathetically upgraded by Martin Ebert of Mackenzie & Ebert, worldrenowned architects responsible for recent works at Turnberry and Royal Portrush.
Originally designed as a challenging heathland golf course, a major treeplanting programme which began in the 1960’s has brought a parkland feel
to this beautiful and tranquil setting. Today the 18-hole, par 71 golf course is complimented by the delightful 9-hole West Water Course, which was founded in 2001, and a superb driving range and short game practice facility. The Machrihanish Golf Club is one of these gems, located within the village of Machrihanish, 5 miles from Campbeltown, the course sits near the southern tip of the Kintyre Peninsula. The golf course features fantastic views over the Atlantic, taking in views of Islay, Jura, Gigha and Northern Ireland. When teeing off on the 1st hole with your drive having to cross the stretch of the Atlantic Ocean, the 3hr journey from Glasgow is made even more rewarding.

The 18 hole championship course at Machrihanish was design by the world renowned golf course Architect Tom Morris, helped by another renowned designer, J H Taylor. Today, it’s clear to see how these designers used the natural contours of the terrain across the surrounding dunes to create a spectacle of golf, overlooking Machrihanish Bay. Machrihanish is largely regarded as one of the last remaining unspoiled links course in Scotland.
The original clubhouse was destroyed by a fire in 2018. Work began on the new building in 2019 and the clubhouse was reopened to members and visitors in early 2021. Today it features a well-appointed bar and elegant restaurant with spectacular views overlooking Machrihanish Bay and beyond. The Clubhouse also boasts a state of the art Swingroom facility and full equipped locker room for visitors.

The Glen, East Links North Berwick.

The Glen Golf Club – North Berwick East Links is one of the most popular of the East Lothian golf courses. A venue not to be missed, the Club’s beautifully manicured golf course provides a challenging and enjoyable test of golf for all levels of golfer as well as boasting unrivalled spectacular headland views across the Firth of Forth and Bass Rock.
Although golf was first played in East Lothian as far back as the 17th century, a nine-hole layout was not developed in North Berwick until 1894. It was later extended to today’s 18- hole layout in 1906, by legendary golf course architect, James Braid and his design partner, Ben Sayers.
The East Links is an all-year-round golf course and is rarely closed due to inclement weather, playing normal tees and greens throughout the seasons.
Our new Clubhouse was opened in the Club’s Centenary year 2006 and offers an array of facilities which can be enjoyed by members and visitors alike; set over two floors with bar, dining and lounge spaces on the first floor boasting panoramic views across the beach, sea and golf course.

Grantown-on-Spey Golf Club
Grantown-on-Spey Golf Club is one of the finest golf venues within the Cairngorms National Park area. Designed by Willie Park and renowned golf course architect, James Braid, the leafy parkland golf course overlooks the Cairngorm Mountains and attracts many society visitors each year due to its undeniable charm and playability.
One of the most delightful golf courses in the Scottish Highlands, Grantown-on-Spey Golf Club is set up for the perfect golf holiday with its close proximity to other Highlands golf courses and spectacular mountain scenery.
The first six holes of the course are laid out over flat parkland followed by six holes set in remote hilly woodland. The round is completed over undulating parkland with the course’s signature hole, the 9th – Murdie’s View – which is played to a backdrop of pine trees and the Cromdale Hills.

Scottish Highlands Golf Course

The Cairngorms National Park is a Living, working landscape with nature at its heart.
Established in September 2003, the truly unique and special Cairngorms National Park is the largest National Park in the UK; twice the size of the Lake District.

Musselburgh really does offer something for everyone.Musselburgh Golf Club was founded in 1938 and, over the years, the course has hosted many amateur events and, on two occasions, the Scottish Professional Championship. We were the regional qualifying course between 2010 – 2012, and then the Final Qualifying course for the Open in 2013

The Irvine Golf Club est 1887
The west coast of Scotland celebrates its glorious past with an eye clearly on the future. In 1860, the Open first came to the west coast of Scotland, when it was played at Prestwick. Since this time, the competition has become the greatest golfing event in the world with Ayrshire firmly at its heart.
