Scotscraig, an Open Final Qualifying Course,

steeped in history and with proud traditions.

Located just fifteen minutes from the Old Course at St Andrews, Scotscraig is the world’s 13th oldest golf club. Founded in 1817 by members of the St Andrews Society of Golfers, the course at Scotscraig was designed under the guidance of world renowned golf course architects, Tom Morris and James Braid.

Redesigned by Braid later in 1923, the course retains most of its original characteristics synonymous with Braid-designed golf courses; rolling greens and well-positioned bunkers.

Although not adjacent to the coastline, the heathland golf course at Scotscraig receives varying sea breezes along its fairways calling for accuracy and a good links-game to shoot a low score. The par 71 course measures 6,669 yards from the championship tees and represents a true test of golf.

Scotscraig Golf club celebrated its bicentenary in 2017 with the unique mix of heathland and links having been a six-time former Open Qualifying venue.

The clubhouse at Scotscraig Golf Club is 120 years old and was opened in 1896. The club’s bar and catering staff make visitors feel most welcome whilst the comfortable dining room which overlooks the 18th green, offers extensive menus ranging from a simple bacon roll to more formal dining options and High Tea.

Society groups are welcome to Scotscraig throughout the year with a range of packages which can be tailored to include as much or as little catering as required, to compliment the wonderful golf on offer.
