North Wales’ unspoilt beaches, wetlands, farmlands, great sea cliffs and spectacular coastline is officially designated as an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ but is also packed full with plenty of golfing heritage. Some of the earliest golf courses in Wales can be found in the north, with many close to the Irish Sea meaning conditions can be challenging; with many golf courses set to the stunning backdrop of the surrounding mountains.

There are a number of fantastic golf courses in Flintshire and close to the Welsh border. Many offer fantastic views of the Dee Estuary and the Wirral Peninsula. Whilst other courses look towards Welsh landmarks such as the Clwydian range of mountains and the foothills of Snowdonia.

Flintshire’s location makes it the ideal location for a golfing break, close the English border and county of Cheshire.

A warm welcome awaits you at Northop Golf Club. Set in 250 acres of wonderful parkland with views across the Dee Estuary, the Flintshire golf club is playable twelve months of the year on USGA standard greens. With excellent drainage, the golf course is immaculately well-kept and ideal for players of all golfing abilities.

Founded in 1994, the Northop course was designed by former Ryder Cup player and renowned golf coach, John Jacobs.

The superbly-appointed clubhouse at Northop Golf Club offers a well-stocked bar and a variety of snacks throughout the day. The purpose built facility is the ideal space to relax following your round with views across the golf course.

Societies and visiting parties are welcome to Northop Golf Club throughout the year. The Club offer a range of summer and winter packages combining excellent golf on the championship course with fantastic dining options catering for everything from a bacon bap and coffee on arrival, to soup and sandwiches or a two-course meal following completion of your round.

The Club’s dedicated Professional team are also on hand during society days to ensure the smooth running of your event, assisting with everything from nearest the pin and longest drive markers, to prize presentation and advice.
