Traditionally, people have come to Morgan Creek for the golf course 18 holes of championship golf designed by famed course architect Thomas McBroom. Increasingly, however, people have moved into Morgan Creek because of its beauty. “It’s one of the best neighbourhoods in South Surrey,” says Carl Chu. Since moving to Morgan Creek, Chu - one of Richmond’s top realtors has brought several of his clients over to the South Surrey neighbourhood. His clients, he says, have been “very very impressed” by the area. “They like the quality of life, the quality of the neighbourhood, the schools and the cleanliness,” he says, as well as “the curb appeal, the landscaping - it’s all high quality.
Morgan Creek itself is a tributary creek to the Nicomekl River. The area that has become Morgan Creek Golf Course originally began as the homestead of William and Margaret Ann Morgan in 1885. During FREE EVALUATION: Prohibition, the Morgans built cabins along their creek, and manufactured bootleg whiskey for their neighbours south of the border. The creek has proven beneficial for farming. In 1987, the Sekhon family purchased a farm and began growing blueberries. Today, there are more than twenty blueberry farms along the river. To the north and east, meanwhile, Morgan Creek is bordered by the Agricultural Land Reserve. In 1994 the Morgan Creek Development began building a community of large homes around the golf course, named by the BC Professional Golf Association as the Facility of the Year and Golf Digest Magazine 2008 Places to Play directory. Community facilities include South Surrey Arena and South Surrey Youth Centre, as well as the new $55m Grandview Heights Aquatic Centre, located on 160th Street.

Southpoint Exchange Shopping Centre is just minutes away, offering access to retailers such as Save-On-Foods, Canadian Tire and Indigo Books. Nearby dining spots include The Keg, Milestones, Cactus Club and the Townhall Public House. Vancouver proper, meanwhile, is 45 minutes away. Morgan Creek is situated evenly between Vancouver International Airport and Abbotsford International Airport, both about 30 minutes’ drive.
