FIRST QUARTER UP 24% IN WEST VANCOUVER
West Vancouver detached home sales were up 24% over last year for the first three months of 2019. Home sales increased from 67 homes during this time period last year to 83 homes in 2019. The biggest shift is to to homes priced below $2M. Last year eight homes were sold at $2M or lower, while this year we have already seen 27 homes in that price range. This accounts for 33% of current home sales. The HPI (Home Price Index) for West Vancouver detached homes is at the lowest point since December 2015 when it was $2,606,00. The HPI for March 2019 is $2,583,600---a decrease of $844,300 from the record high of $3,427,900 of September 2016. See the pie chart below for a comparison of sold prices.
