ANTONIO BOATTO
Antonio Boatto concludes his studies in the Classics and his artistic education in Milano which then becomes the starting point of his career first as a teacher then as an artist. After having dedicated a brief period to teaching and being convinced about the aesthetic value of the post-modern philosophical movement he starts painting and sculpturing with a personal and unique touch. In doing so, he may be placed in the last decades of the figurative artistic Italian Movement. As a consequence he creates several grand historical internationally acclaimed works: The Sacristry of St. Ann’s Church in N.Y.; the vault of St. Mark’s Dome in Pordenone Italy; the apse of the Queen National Shrine’s Sanctuary in Boston, the main portal of Cathedral in Vicenza, Italy. He has always shown a keen interest in literature and philosophy which are also present in his artistic works: “Weariness” (2006); philosophical reflections of his “Metaphysical Diary” (2008); “Pavula” which are 43 short stories (2009); his religious work “the Road of the Cross” (2010).
All of his works contain poetic, transcendental , cathartic and emotional images which are even mirrored in the 14 exclusively designed cinerary urns all made in top- quality wood. The 14 urns are collector’s pieces which underline the three important aspects of Antonio Boatto’s artistic inspiration: beauty, light and hope.
