The City of Miami and its surrounding areas have become known around the world for its vibrant cultural landscape and diverse artistic expressions. On June 27, 2023, Lion and Unicorn will host an extraordinary auction event that will captivate art enthusiasts and collectors from around the world. Lion and Unicorn is proud to present recently decommissioned items from the Archived Collection of The Bass Museum of Art, located in Miami Beach, Florida. This rare opportunity auction will offer an eclectic array of treasures, ranging from stunning Haitian art and sculptures to rare Miami architectural drawings, famous paintings and photographs, exquisite glasswork, and much more. The auction will include works that were featured in The Bass Museum’s Exhibit: Promises of Paradise: Staging Mid-Century Miami, which ran from December 2007 through April 2008. Additional there are original photographs and prints that were featured in the book, 70 Years of Miami Architecture, by Millas J. Aristides, published by the Bass Museum of Art in 1991.
