As a committee, the Jindalee State School P & C is focussed on promoting parent participation and encouraging collaboration between parents, students, the teachers and administration staff within the school. It is about fostering a commitment to achieving the best educational outcomes for the children.
The teaching and administration staff, led by the principal can only achieve so much on their own and the P & C acts as an extension to their great work. They ensure projects such as the purchase of air conditioning, new classroom furniture and lights on the multi-purpose courts just to name a few. They also manage the tuckshop, uniform shop, School Aged Care Program and they drive fund raising through events such as the annual fete.

As much as we appreciciate the input and revenue from our non-JSS run stalls (outside stall holders); it is the JSS run stalls that provide the best source of income for our school.
This stall is run by the Jindalee State School P&C. All proceeds go towards school improvements.

WHAT’S IN THE MAP / PROGRAM? This little beauty has everything you need to know about fete day. There is a program that will let you know what is happening on stage and when. Keep your eye on this throughout the day so you know when your children will be on stage. It also has all the times for the Great Barrier Reef Raffle, The Lorrikeet Live Auction and all of the day’s entertainment.

Map and Program
Keep an eye out for it
Also within the pages you will find a detailed, large, fold-out map, which will tell you where all the great stalls are, where the amenities are and of course where the rides are. The map has colour co-ordinated categories to make it easier to find like attractions. Categories include amenities; stalls; food & drinks; rides & attractions; auctions, raffles & competitions and kid’s activities. Last but not least, the map also indicates which stalls are run by Jindalee State School volunteers. This lets our fete goers know how to find those stalls most attributable to the day’s fundraising.
WHERE CAN YOU FIND THE MAP / PROGRAM? Well you won’t be finding it in your letterbox this year. We are trialling a new method for distribution in an effort to prevent the fete guide being lost amongst the other unaddressed mail in your letterbox. This year a copy of the map / program will be sent home with your youngest child. There will also be maps / programs available in many businesses throughout the Centenary suburbs. They will be distributed through other schools, local clubs, groups and associations. And if you don’t find one that way, they will also be available on the day of the fete at the entry and at the information stall.

What’s Happenin From our Site Convenors PLEASE GIVE OUR SITE CONVENORS GLENN JOHNSTON AND DAN MACKENZIE A HAND TO PICK UP, SET UP, CLEAN UP AND PACK UP. THIS IS A HUGE JOB FOR THESE GUYS AND THEY NEED ALL THE HELP THEY CAN GET. It’s all hands on deck for this one. A range of things need doing for the preparation and clean up of the site. From Thursday 28 August through to Monday 1 September, these guys need lots help with the following: Thursday between 3pm and 6pm Collection of marquee tents from Centenary Rowing plus pick the up other borrowed and hired items Friday between 8am and 7pm Are you free at all on Friday? Help is needed to pick up marquees from various locations around the suburbs and set them up on the oval. Saturday between 8am and 9pm (The big day) Saturday morning we will continue to set up the site and will still need helpers. Prior to the fireworks all marquees need to be removed for the clear zone. This needs to be done as quickly as possible so all hands on deck would be appreciated.
Many previous fetes this job has gone well beyond midday because of the lack of helpers. Let’s not see this happen again this year. Monday between 8am and 12pm The return of much of the borrowed and hired equipment needs to happen on Monday. So if you are able to assist with any of these times please contact Glenn Johnston: gjohn10@bigpond.com or Louise Johnston: louisej2@bigpond.com, 0421 160 075
Photographers We need a team of photographers on the day. Two volunteers with SLR cameras are required. You will need to ensure any photos taken have permission to be published You will be briefed on how to go about this. If you are not afraid to step out of auto mode on your camera please contact Stef: info@whodunnit.com.au

Sunday between 8am and 12pm Sunday is clean up day. This is a BIG, BIG job, yet it can be knocked over quite quickly with many hands.
Please don’t assume that others will do this one. It’s one of the toughest jobs when there is not much help.

WE NEED BOOKS! WE NEED BOOKS! Donations of books, CDs, DVDs, games and puzzles are substantially down compared with previous years. It’s time to sort through those piles at home and pass on all your unwanted items! We really need them urgently as they take time to sort and price. The last day for accepting donations will be Wednesday 27th August! Please drop off anytime at 11 Trevi St, Jindalee – you can leave on my front verandah or carport. Jillaroo Jams & Chutneys
jam that is nothing short of delicious, I may be persuaded to give bacon jam a whirl if someone was to request it. In the coming weeks we will be whipping up some sauces, hommus and spice rubs so no matter your taste we will have something for you at Jillaroo Jams! I’m pretty set for bottles at the moment but if you don’t mind hanging onto the smaller 250300ml bottles I may need some in the coming weeks. If you’d like to donate some ingredients they will certainly be put to good use. This week capsicum, onions, pears, frozen cranberries, frozen mango, frozen rhubarb (or fresh if you can find them) and gumnuts for decorating the bottles would be very much appreciated.
Thank you to everyone who has donated jars and ingredients, I would like to give a special mention to Nicole Frame and Bibi Samedani your generosity has been overwhelming. Thank you also to those who are helping me cook up a storm your help is very much appreciated.
If you can help out at all please email Vicki: vicki@bubblebubs.com.au or call/text 0433 845 123
Together we’ve been pumping out some classic conserves such as strawberry jam, marmalade, tomato chutney and sweet onion relish along with some left of centre jam recipes like raspberry and chocolate, fig bourbon and vanilla bean, spiced pear and a seriously yummy banana and pineapple jam. We’ve experimented making some banana curry chutney, a red hot tomato jam that will take your breath away and today I made a strawberry, basil and chilli
