INTERVIEW OF THE MONTH ; BURKEY FROM THE WRITER’S BLOG! For this month’s interview, we have kindly asked Burkey from the Writer’s Blog to tell us a bit about his animated online series!

Why did you want to start an animated series? A huge inspiration for me has been the wonderful CaptinFranko! His series really has set such a high standard for Doctor Who machinima and he really has inspired me to go forward and create a series of my own. In the past I have tried to develop a series of my own but it's never actual got off the ground for reasons unknown to me. I actually stumbled across a script that I'd written in 2009 for a planned 10th Doctor series, so I'll have to release that sometime and show you guys what could've been. This time round though, the idea for the series really has taken off and it's really motivated me to go ahead and put this series into production. I think the massive interest this time round is due to having found a Doctor Who community on Blogger who are all hungry to write and view Doctor Who. In particular, I'd like to thank both CaptinFranko and Blink for their continued support and promotion of the series; they've been amazing! Turn over for question 2!

INTERVIEW OF THE MONTH ; BURKEY FROM THE WRITER’S BLOG! For this month’s interview, we have kindly asked Burkey from the Writer’s Blog to tell us a bit about his animated online series! When you first opened your blog, did you think you would get so many people wanting to write scripts?

Well my blog originally started off as somewhere to detail the creation process behind writing a fanfic episode of Doctor Who, because at the time I was writing for another animated series of Doctor Who. But when I did begin to develop my own series, I was so surprised at the interest shown towards writing an episode. I'm still getting people approaching me now asking if they could write for the series! I've got four guest writers for this series and I think that adds an element of variety to the series, and I also love the bit where I read a script for the first time. That bit is the best! Turn over for question 3!

INTERVIEW OF THE MONTH ; BURKEY FROM THE WRITER’S BLOG! For this month’s interview, we have kindly asked Burkey from the Writer’s Blog to tell us a bit about his animated online series! The Series is based on Doctor Who, will we see any appearances from the spin-offs? This is a difficult question really. I love some of the characters in the spin-off series' (particularly Torchwood) and I'd love to include them in a story somewhere, but my brain is telling me that I should focus on the creation of my own characters. That's why I set the series as the adventures of the Twelfth Doctor; I didn't want to be bogged down by the constantly changing continuity of the characters on the tele. I wanted to set it so that I had pretty much a free reign with what I wanted to do with the characters and I could only achieve this by making an entirely new core cast. That's not me ruling out appearances from any characters in the spin-offs but for now it's gonna be a no. But who knows, eh? I've always liked the character of Captain Jack, and I think his immortality really does give you a lot of options to play around with. So if you're gonna see a character from any DW spin-offs, it's likely to be Captain Jack. Turn over for question 4!

INTERVIEW OF THE MONTH ; BURKEY FROM THE WRITER’S BLOG! For this month’s interview, we have kindly asked Burkey from the Writer’s Blog to tell us a bit about his animated online series! Can you give us any spoilers, about what is to come?

Well, I don't want to give too much away, but I can confirm that we've got quite a few classic villains returning; and they're not enemies who you'd expect to be seeing! I'll also tell you to beware of the Oblivion! Finally, will there be a second series?

I'm not too sure of that yet seems as series one is yet to start filming, but I'll make sure I keep you all updated about that situation, because frankly I would love to do a second season, but it really does depend on work-loads and the amount of free time I'm getting. I'm hopeful of a second series, but I can assure you that I am at least contemplating a Christmas Special! Come back next month for info on our script for Burkey: Legacy of the Doctor!
