This 24-credit program prepares you for a successful future in the global marketplace and attracts students from around the world. In recent years, students from Africa, Asia, Europe, South America, North America, Australia, and Eurasia have selected Delaware Law for their legal education. These students have brought a wide range of perspectives to the program that have enriched the educational experience of both faculty and students.
General Master of Laws Program Concentrations Through the General LLM program, you can select a concentration in American Legal Studies, Human Dignity Rights, Global Financial and Cyber Crimes, or complete courses that tailor the program to your career goals. LEGAL RÉSUMÉ seeking in-depth training in an area of law in which they currently practice or for those planning to develop a new area of practice.
Two-Year Master of Laws with Certificate in Legal English For applicants with lower English language proficiency scores, the Two-Year Master of Laws with Certificate in Legal English can help enhance and improve the skills needed to foster a larger understanding of legal concepts as well as bolster the ability to master the English language. Students will complete 24 credits (year one) of foundational legal courses along with an engaging, rigorous Legal English program. Successful students will receive a Certificate in Legal English and eligible students may continue their studies in one of our LLM programs (year 2; 24 credits).
FROM DAY ONE Online Master of Laws in Corporate Law with a concentration in Regulatory Analysis & Compliance Our 100% online compliance LLM programs provide students around the world with an opportunity to earn a U.S. degree without ever leaving their country. Compliance with U.S. and international regulations is imperative to the operation of a corporation or a health care organization. The fastpaced regulatory changes require professionals to have the skills needed to develop and maintain a compliance and ethics program in their company to prevent and deter fraudulent behavior. Students may complete the 24-credit
program in one year (full-time) or two years (part-time). Interactive online courses are taught by compliance experts around the country and offer intense practical training so students are ready to hit the ground running after graduation. Additionally, the programs are accredited by the Compliance Certification Board®, which means that successful graduates with high academic achievement may take a certification exam to become a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) without the typically required 1,500 hours of work experience. The compliance profession can be an exciting new career for lawyers.
Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) Designed for those who wish to demonstrate scholarly achievement in the fields of health law or corporate law, the SJD program offers students an intensive curriculum to bolster their writing skills and hone their dissertation proposals in an effort to produce a quality paper. In addition to writing courses and colloquia sessions, students are paired with a dissertation supervisor and receive individual guidance and feedback.
The SJD program is a three-year program and requires the completion of 43 credit hours. Students must be registered full-time in residence at Delaware Law’s Wilmington campus for the first two academic years. After two years, students may continue their research away from the law school.

Delaware Law is excited to partner with universities from around the world. Through our unique collaborations, students may obtain a dual degree from both their home institution and Delaware Law. Depending on the partnership, we offer LLM and/or SJD dual degree options. We have partnerships across several continents. Exchange programs benefit students from outside the United States by providing them with an opportunity to spend a semester on our beautiful Delaware campus. Through agreements with a student’s home institution, the student may attend classes in our Master of Laws program for one semester. With our unified campus community, all students, including our exchange students, enjoy comraderie with classmates, social gatherings, study groups, student organizations, and more.
Legal English
Legal Scholars Academy
Non-native English speakers can benefit from a program that focuses on legal English to improve knowledge of the U.S. legal system and the English language. Prepare for success in future law-related education with courses in legal writing, legal vocabulary, academic reading, and professional speaking and listening. With the opportunity to learn and apply legal English skills, students can build the confidence to write, speak, and listen in the context of the American legal system.
With partnerships at universities around the world, Delaware Law makes it easy for students to collaborate and engage with a diverse group of legal professionals. This one-week program offers an opportunity for judges, practitioners, and students to come together in Delaware to receive a unique educational experience through lectures by Delaware Law faculty and faculty from other countries, roundtable discussions with local and global judiciary, or witnessing the Delaware Supreme Court in action and hearing oral arguments on the law school campus. Lecture topics range from human rights to corporate law to anti-money laundering and more. What better way to learn the law than by engaging with scholars and legal professionals from different countries. Attendees also enjoy social gatherings and cultural excursions to local attractions.
Summer Law Programs Join attorneys and law students from around the world who want to study a variety of legal topics in the United States. These four-week programs will equip you to complete dynamic legal specialty courses in corporate law, anti-corruption, the U.S. legal system, U.S. Constitutional law, and more. Along the way, you’ll benefit from cultural immersions through local events and excursions to historic landmarks and popular cities. The programs include accommodations in a residence hall, program orientation, transportation to excursions, welcome and farewell gatherings, and an on-site advisor. Successful attendees will receive a Certificate of Completion at the conclusion of their chosen program.
Past excursions have included: Washington, D.C. The United Nations in New York City Historic Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Delaware and Pennsylvania Courts U.S. Supreme Court and more!

TAKE THE
The LLM program is open to international students who have completed a first degree in law from a non-U.S. law school that fulfills the academic requirements for the practice of law in that country, as well as graduates of American Juris Doctor programs. The SJD program is open to exceptional candidates who hold an LLM from a U.S. law school accredited by the American Bar Association, or from a non-U.S. Law School with equivalent standards and degree requirements.
