PR & Communications Intern Job Purpose The PR & Communications Intern will support the Admin Assistant in the delivery of external and internal communications for the company. The role will involve work across the spectrum of communications activity, including: online publishing, media, events, networking and internal communications. The role will enable the post holder to gain experience of delivering communications projects while learning about a range of issues in India’s global business sector. The post holder will be expected to work well within our modern office culture, follow strict ethical guidelines and be passionate about building our company further. The day-to-day activities for the PR & Communications Intern will be spread across four areas. Depending on the company’s clients and workload, some activities may be more important than others. Writing
Liaise with colleagues and partner organisations to find out about potential news/success stories and incorporate leads into our communications grid Write, edit and proofread news/success stories Interview past clients and program participants for feedback and write case studies Contribute to the development of ideas for new programme publications
External Communications
Be the driving force behind our new PR strategy Provide administrative, design and production support for marketing materials such as programme fliers and posters Organise and attend office-based events as required Gain visibility for the company by engaging with the wider community Participate in ongoing marketing activities: you will be trained to represent the company at weekly BNI meetings Use your networking skills to build professional relationships with potential clients and positively influence their perception of the company
Website
Use a content management system to update and amend the company’s web pages Keep the website’s News section up to date by publishing regular news stories Monitor online media coverage of issues related to our company and Indian business in general

Administration
Take responsibility for maintaining the communications grid – recording information about news, events, photography and media opportunities Maintain the printed media archive - printing out important or interesting articles in hard copy for internal use Support our Admin Assistant in all internal communications between consultants, clients, stakeholders and support staff If required, provide admin support to cover reception (answering the phone, signing for courier deliveries etc.)
Person Specification The post holder will be exposed to activities across several aspects of communications and will need to be willing to try their hand at a range of tasks. Support and any necessary training will be given in all of the areas outlined, but the post holder will need to show initiative and be able to get on with tasks unsupervised.
Key attributes when selecting a candidate will be:
Good written and spoken English Strong attention to detail A creative approach, and willingness to put forward ideas Good organisational skills Basic IT literacy – training will be given for any specialised software, but MS Word and familiarity with a PC is essential Able to work with colleagues from a diverse range of backgrounds Able to demonstrate the impact you expect the internship would have on your career development
Terms Posts will be offered for a period of 3 or 4 months. The role can be full or part time, but you will be expected to work at least 3 days a week. Office hours are 9am to 5pm.
