Special Exhibitions + Events

CODE AND NOISE, curated by Christine Duval, is an exhibition that presents eleven artists from Chicago, New York, the Bay Area, China and Japan who use, create or leverage on software to produce works that are engaging, stimulating and allow to ponder on many current issues such as the environment, memory, art history, data collection and surveillance. JD Beltran & Scott Minneman, Mel Day & Frank Ham, Laurie Frick, James Lanahan, Ligorano/Reese, Clive McCarthy, Simon Pyle, teamLab and Yang Yongliang. THE BATTERY The Battery Art Program focuses on showing work by emerging and established contemporary artists, generally living in, or with strong ties to, the Bay Area and West Coast of California. The work they are presenting at Art SV/SF is representative of their ongoing exhibition programming, as all of the artists have either participated in a previous show at The Battery, or are slated to show in future exhibitions. Art SV/SF is also pleased to welcome special exhibitions by notable bay area cultural institutions. These curatorial efforts offer opportunities to encounter new art and ideas as an added dimension to the weekend’s events: SFADA; Stanford Art Spaces; TMORO projects; UC Davis Art Studio; Shipyard Trust For The Arts (STAR); Yerba Buena Center for the Arts; San Jose Museum of Art. FRIDAY-SATURDAY: 11am - 6pm | SUNDAY: 11am - 5pm The Art SV/SF KIDS CENTER will provide a safe playroom on-site for children ages 3 - 13, who are introduced to art while their parents visit Art SV/SF. Ignighting investment and engagement in arts and creativity in Silicon Valley

Silicon Valley Creates welcomes Art Silicon Valley/San Francisco into this innovative, participatory, diverse, and accessible Bay Area arts ecosystem. We believe that the arts play a unique and integral role in building community, creating a sense of place, and bringing joy and learning to our lives, and we see art fairs as opportunities to introduce and engage new audiences. We work to raise the visibility and value of the arts; increase participation; and grow investment in, and build the capacity of our arts and culture community. We applaud the Fair for their inclusion of and partnership with a number of Silicon Valley organizations, including Zero1, San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art, MACLA, Stanford Art Spaces, tmoro projects, Djerassi Foundation Resident Artists Program, and the San Jose Museum of Art.
