Porotherm. Delivered from local stocks.
Nationwide Distribution To bring the Porotherm System to the UK market place, Wienerberger has partnered with some of the leading building material distributors in the UK. Porotherm System Distributor arrangements have been set up in the key regions of the UK to ensure that the system can be delivered to sites from local stocks, ensuring continuity of production and exploiting the rapid building benefits of Porotherm. Our first system distributor has been pivotal in using its strong, long established supplier relationships to develop the full range of associated components, specifically designed for the Porotherm System. All system distributors carry stocks of the core range of blocks and mortar as well as specialist tools, wall ties, DPCs and lintels. Lintel bearing and first course starter blocks are also available to ensure minimum cutting is needed on site.
Streamlined Logistics A key criteria in choosing our system distributors was their excellence in transport and logistics. All distributors have access to dedicated fleets of specialist vehicles, enabling them to work closely with contractors and clients to provide continuity of supply, even to tight building programmes. Local stockholding and resources overcome the risks of delay associated with long haul bulk deliveries of materials.
Technical Support Wienerberger and system distributors have specialist, experienced staff ready to respond to questions from clients, specifiers and contractors - providing assistance in choosing the most suitable product for the scheme, assessing the likely thermal performance, as well as specification of the specially developed associated system components. Site logistics advice and close liaison with project teams enable the Porotherm distributors to help customers get the most from the building system.
Training and Demonstration Centre Wienerberger and its first distribution partner believed that the introduction of a new building system to the UK required a serious commitment to promoting an understanding of the product, along with practical and technical training. The first dedicated Porotherm Training Centre has been developed at Longbridge in Birmingham. Just 5 minutes off the motorway network, the site provides easy access from both the north and south. Sessions are held on a regular basis and can be tailored to suit the needs of specific clients or organisations. Since its opening in April 2009, the centre has hosted both practical and technical training sessions for the whole range of construction professionals. Bricklayers, project managers, architects and senior directors from leading companies have utilised the visual presentation facility and hands-on training area. This has proved to be a great success in promoting a clear understanding of the Porotherm System and the advantages it can offer. The provision of a dedicated Porotherm training facility has therefore become one of the key requirements to become a Porotherm System Distributor.
