WIENERBERGER FACA D E SO LU T I O N S The choice of facade material has one of the greatest impacts on the aesthetics of any building, second only to the structure’s architectural design. It’s the first impression a building gives, and it’s a first impression that is both difficult and costly to change after construction. That means the right product is critical. As one of the world’s largest suppliers of solutions for the whole building envelope, Wienerberger has a range of facade options to help create the aesthetic style clients, architects and designers desire. The addition of SVK Fibre Cement Facades enhances this offering even further. From the UK’s largest range of facing bricks and brick slips, to the Corium mechanical fix brick cladding system, to large format facade panels, Wienerberger has a solution to meet your needs. Solutions that are as varied as any architect or designers imagination. Solutions that are versatile by design.

M AT E R I A L I N F O C U S : FIBRE CEMENT Fibre cement is a versatile material with a rich history, providing solutions across the building envelope. And it’s a material that’s becoming an increasingly popular choice in modern facade design and construction. Since the late 19th Century, specialist producers have been mixing fibres with cement to create a strong and durable composite perfect for panel forming. The mid 20th Century saw pioneering architects like Walter Gropius employ such panels, and the material’s aesthetic and textural form was crucial to the celebrated Bauhaus school. With such a pedigree, it’s no surprise that fibre cement has stood the test of time. Wienerberger’s SVK facades build on fibre cement’s reputation for form and function. What was at first a pioneering material has been transformed into a precision engineered solution, expanding the material’s reach beyond previous limitations. A solution with safety and creativity in mind. One that’s versatile by design. A colourful future for a proven solution.

Across the SVK range, panels can be made to measure or cut on site, offering the flexibility to play with shape and size for both new build and renovation. Forget the limitations of technical feasibility, and instead focus on achieving a truly innovative and striking arrangement. Mixing colour and form with finish allows for an even greater aesthetic range. From naturalistic lightly sanded cement, to a smooth and matte modern surface.

Per formance and Possibilit y Facades by Wienerberger offer an array of advantages, and the SVK range is no different. This low maintenance building solution requires just simple water or detergent to remove dirt, which guarantees a longer lifespan and a better visual appearance when installed and maintained to manufacturer’s instructions. The lightweight panels are easy to install on a wide range of substrates, and provide excellent weather, fire and impact resistance. SVK facades can also sit alongside other facade solutions or traditional materials to meet the complex requirements of renovation projects. The lightweight solution can be installed quickly and efficiently, minimising disruption, and the range of colour and finish options can complement existing aesthetics. SVK facades really have been designed with performance and flexibility in mind.

Shades of Character The textured finish brings an element of nature into play, producing variations in shade and appearance as the weather and environment interact with the panel itself. Over time, no panel will look quite the same.

Wrapped and Ready Each Puro Plus panel is fully calibrated, ensuring a smooth and flawless finish every single time. After calibration, panels are covered with a protective film. The Colormat panels are coloured during the manufacturing process. This method ensures colour right through the product, and a specialised sanding process helps emphasise the variation and detail which marks each panel as unique.

Protected for Per formance Af ter pressing, the panels are autoclaved to ensure strength and durabilit y. Each panel is then hydrophobed, providing a water repellent mat te and transparent protective layer. The result is a low maintenance water and dir t repellent panel that ages naturally.

Colormat Classic A smooth sur face, with a light sanding to create subtle lines and variations.

Colormat Scripto A more deeply sanded option, with clearer variation and noticeable line structure. The line direction can be rotated and contrasted bet ween panels for aesthetic ef fect.

Colormat Bando Available in both Classic and Scripto finishes, Bando adds even more depth and character. Repetitive 2mm deep and 8mm wide milled grooves create the ef fect of wooden or synthetic slats.

Color Plus facade panels are lightly sanded and coloured right through to the edge during the production process. That means whatever your design choices, the facade reflects your aesthetic vision through the entire panel.

Matched and Smooth The visible side of each panel is finished with high qualit y, durable and UV-resistant acr ylic. This scratch-resistant coating gives the facade a uniformly smooth and mat te appearance. The colour of the coating is chosen to match the pigment of the panel for even greater cohesion, and the reverse is given a transparent coating.

Dried for Stabilit y Each Color Plus facade panel is double pressed and hardened for a minimum of four weeks before air dr ying to achieve excellent structural integrit y, impact resistance and stabilit y.

Low Maintenance The low porosit y of Color Plus panels means they’re less vulnerable to contamination. Lit tle or no maintenance is required, with cleaning only needing pure water or a liquid, neutral, nonabrasive all purpose cleaner. For best results follow maintenance instructions.

I N S TA L L AT I O N Through the years, SVK has developed a variety of solutions for attaching facade panels. Each of these techniques guarantees a durable, high-quality result. Furthermore, visible as well as hidden attachments are possible for all types of panels.

Ventilation When installing fibre cement facade panels, it is important to choose a ventilated facade solution. The facade panel protects the insulation and the facade structure underneath. This way, the building is given the necessary breathing space. Ventilated facades with SVK fibre cement facade panels offer a triple advantage, thanks to their minimal weight, maximum protection and optimal living comfort.

Screws All SVK facade panels can be attached with screws to the (wooden or aluminium) supporting structure. For this we use facade panel screws with a coated round head. These are screwed perpendicularly in the middle of the pre-drilled screw holes.

Rivets All SVK facade panels can be attached to aluminium support structures using rivets. Rivets are available in the same colour as the facade panel.

Glue SVK facade panels are glued to last with a glueing system that remains elastic and has been specially designed for our facade panels. This glueing system consists mainly of a double-sided, self-adhesive strip and a strip of glue. Be sure to take a look at the glue manufacturer’s instructions when installing facade panels.
