For Crying Out Loud! For parents and babies up to 1 year old. £6 per adult – babies come for free A continuation of our popular programme for new parents and their babies. Each lasting 45 minutes, the concerts provide an opportunity to enjoy a programme of beautiful chamber music in a calm and accommodating environment. With musicians from the Royal Academy of Music. For 2 – 5 year olds Workshop leader Natasha Zielazinski and young performers from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama present these popular music workshops for toddlers and their carers. Sessions include a short performance in the Auditorium and an interactive workshop in the Bechstein Room including singing, playing percussion and a chance to meet the musicians and see their instruments close up.

STRING STORIES: STEVEN ISSERLIS FAMILY CONCERT For age 5 plus Saturday 29 January 11.00 am – 12 noon Join world-renowned cellist Steven Isserlis and friends for an exciting programme including Little Red Violin – an exquisite children’s story written by Steven Isserlis based on Little Red Riding Hood, but with a very musical twist! Narrated by Samuel West, with music by Anne Dudley. £7 adults £5 children

SOUND EXPERIMENT FAMILY DAY For age 5 plus Saturday 12 February 10.30 am – 3.30 pm Discover exciting new ways to play with music in this technology-focussed family day. Join composer and sound-artist Duncan Chapman to create new sounds and make some innovative music to perform on the Wigmore Hall stage at the end of the day. £10 adults £8 children 4


FAMILY DAY For age 5 plus Saturday 12 March 10.30 am – 3.30 pm Discover the trickery and magic in the story of Pulcinella: hear how Stravinsky brought the characters to life and devise your own music for the story. With workshop leader Sam Glazer and students from the Royal Academy of Music.

WIGMORE STUDY GROUP KURTÁG’S GHOSTS Wednesday 2, Friday 4 and Wednesday 9 February 3.00 pm – 6.00 pm The extraordinary scope of the chamber music by Hungarian composer, György Kurtág, and the breadth of composers who have influenced his work, from the 14th to the 20th centuries, will be explored in this second Wigmore Study Group of the season. Hosted by composer Julian Philips, participants will explore this rich repertoire with contributions from distinguished musicologists and postgraduate chamber musicians from the Guildhall Music & Drama. Linked to the performance of Kurtág’s Ghosts by Marino Formenti on Wednesday 9 February. Series ticket price £53 including 3 study sessions and a ticket for the evening concert on 9 February.
