nother successful year for E & E Events Management. Including the Crowning of Miss Latina Australia Georgette Sophia Vega and our Miss International Australia Tatiana Castiblanco. Georgette participated in various Charity fundraisers , fashion shows she was a VIP guest during the ARTZ Fashion week and also performed and captivated the crowd with her beautiful voice at different events. My heart was filled with pride as we headed off to Mexico in September 2016 as Georgette represented the Latin American community and did Australia proud! At our return we got straight into Little stars Runway getting our talent ready for LSR goes Hollywood where we introduced LSR talent and raised $800 for Skye. It was a Fantastic night!
We are now looking forward to the Big changes ... Re Branding, and becoming a Modelling and talent agency. Many Positives ahead as we take E & E management and Miss Lindeza to the next level as we want to make sure our talent has the best opportunity in landing many roles! Now as we take Miss Lindeza 2017 winner into Bolivia to participate in the most prestigious International Latin American Pageant “ REINA HISPANOAMERICANA” in October, our winner will also get the opportunity to meet the girls from the orphanage of “Hogar Maria Auxiliadora” and present them with all the funds raised by all of this year's Contestants.. This is a dream come true for me and Can’t wait to share this moment alongside Miss Lindeza 2017 and my parents, as they too will travel there in October. Another highlight of E & E is the preparation of our young teenagers as we will also be taking them internationally to participate in “Miss teen Universe" next year… I would like to thank Gary Lee, who after a few years of being with us has moved on to better and bigger things after being named Australian of the year . We wish him the best with all the amazing work he does in the Community!
Little Stars Runway has also been taking part at shopping centers. We participated at the Sunshine Plaza showcasing their retailers and was a huge success. We will continue to participate in different centers around Melbourne this year too, so make sure you keep an eye in our pages! E & E Management Models also took part in the Fashion runways, in shopping centres and were also invited to participate in Parici Rendezvous Event and Emerger Melbourne Market in support for The Helping Hands Foundation Australia Inc., a non-profit organization aimed at helping young kids." Georgette Psarreas Vega Miss Latina Australia 2016 Her Mexico story
M
y Miss Latina Australia journey began in the middle of April, 2016. I entered the pageant alongside my best friend Stephanie who has been encouraging and supportive from the beginning. We entered this pageant as something we could both do together to help build our selfesteem and confidence, especially for myself as I am a musician and performer. Once I was selected to go through to the final round of the pageant, the fun and hard work really began. As contestants , we attended a number of events before the coronation night, we were guests at the Argentinian club, Tromba night club, The Uruguayan Club and the Chilean Club also welcomed us.
On coronation night I remember feeling excited and blessed to even be participating in such a wonderful event with lovely staff and contestants. I felt nervous and overwhelmed during the day as we were busy, getting our hair and makeup done and doing last minute rehearsals. As the final hours were creeping up and all I could remember was how nervous I was feeling. Before I knew it the final two were announced and I was completely in shock that I had made it this far.... “The winner is... Georgette”. I couldn’t believe what had just happened, my dream came true, the beginning of a new chapter in my life and I couldn’t have been happier. It finally sunk in that I was the new “Miss Latina Australia 2016” and it was time to work harder than ever for my upcoming international pageant in the beautiful Mexico. With many rehearsals and meetings, I was privileged enough to gain some extra practice modelling and walking in front of crowds and the camera. One exciting event was without a doubt, was during the Melbourne spring fashion week, at “Melbourne Spring Fashion Rendezvous”. I was honoured to be modelling Lorna Jane a major fashion label of clothing and Andrea Agosta jewellery. I also had the opportunity to perform, which is something I passionately love doing. When the time came for me to travel to Mexico, I had all types of butterflies in my stomach and felt absolutely terrified. After a long 26-hour flight we arrived in Mexico, once in Cancun and all ready and glammed up to begin this competition I was confident that I was going to have the most amazing experience ever. At the airport I met a few girls that were also competing for Miss America Latina 2017 and from then on, I knew I was going to make some friendships that would last a lifetime. The bus took myself and the other contest to the beautiful occidental Xcaret resort, where I was staying for the next two
weeks. I signed into registrations, and went back to my room to rest. Just before the meet and greet with the contestants I remember feeling intimidated, but regardless of me speaking minimal Spanish they were all so welcoming and lovely. At dinner, I became really good friends with Miss Costa Rica and also enjoyed meeting and talking with a few of the girls from Miss Latina America 2016. All the girls were lovely and welcoming but I was ready for bed and couldn’t wait to start the pageant officially the next morning. My roommate arrived later that night, close to midnight and she was from Spain. It was 5 am the next morning and we were both up and ready to begin hair and makeup for day one. My nerves had already gone and I was so thrilled to be in this beautiful country representing Australia. The first day consisted of orientation, meeting all the staff and judges that will be judging us for the next ten days, getting our sash and name badges and taking part in the individual and group photo shoots The next six days included activities, photoshoots, rehearsals, interviews and delicious all you can eat breakfasts, lunches and dinners. From this point, the competition was officially starting with the judged interviews, gown presentation and bikini round before the coronation. It was so exciting to have so many different friends from all over the world who willingly helped us reach our best, by giving each other modelling, walking and posing tips throughout the competition. The coronation night arrived and I couldn’t believe how fast this whole journey was going and felt so blessed to have had the opportunity to do something I love. We had our last rehearsal and got most of the day off to relax before getting our hair and makeup done for the big night. As the final hours were creeping up, we were all ready with our hair and makeup as we took onto the stage for our first round with bikini. As the night went on and the final twelve contestants were announced, I remember feeling a bit upset at not making the final twelve, however I quickly realized that it didn’t matter if I wasn’t a winner at the international level, I was still a winner to my country and was so thankful to be given this opportunity. I arrived home in Melbourne a couple of days after the competition and was greeted by my supporting family and friends. This was definitely a moment in my life to remember and something I will cherish for the rest of my life. Being Miss Latina Australia 2016 has been the biggest blessing in disguise. It has opened my door to a whole world of confidence and friends, which I will keep for a lifetime. by Georgette

ogar Maria Auxiliadora is an orphanage in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Run by nuns of Catholic Organization Hijas del Divino Salvador, the orphanage offers a welcoming home to 55 young girls aged between 3 to 18 years old and a space that provides stability, education and care; with the intention of supporting the girls’ development and empowering them to be part of society. Estela Tapia has a personal connection to the orphanage as her aunt, Sister Maria Alicia Caceres is one of the nuns that run the home. Her aunt has been an integral part of the home for many years since it was founded. Back in Melbourne, Estela and her family regularly run fundraising activities ranging from garage sales, community dinners to selling delicious pupusas to raise money for the orphanage’s Christmas celebrations. She has also actively used E & E Events Management and its flagship events to support the orphanage throughout the year. This year, Finalists of the Miss Lindeza 2017 were also given the opportunity to raise money for the orphanage by selling raffle tickets and be considered for the title of Miss Charity Award as part of the competition. Estela is overwhelmed as her wish to one day take the Australian winner to visit Bolivia will come true this year as the Crowned Miss Lindeza 2017 winner will participate in Reina Hispanoamericana and will also get to visit the Orphanage and spend time with the girls and present the funds raised by the Australian contestants. This is in line with the competition’s focus on giving back to the less fortunate and empowering young girls all around the world. Inspired by her mother’s giving nature and lifelong devotion in supporting her community, Estela hopes to follow her mother’s footsteps to spread the joy of being compassionate and kind. nspired by her mother from a young age, Tamara independently broke into the design industry with ‘Tamarabell Designs’ in 2014. Tamara’s love for sewing and design developed from age 11 when, with the assistance of her mum, she sewed her first pencil case. From there, Tamara went onto sewing cushions and her own party dresses by age 15.
Starting off her business with alterations, it was word of mouth which initially put the name Tamarabell Designs out in the industry after Tamara was asked to design and create an evening dress for a private function. From there, she began to promote her business by posting her collections on Social Media. She has also gained publicity by photographers who photograph their models in her gowns and credit Tamarabell Designs in their portfolios. rowing up to music in a Latin household is to some extent an understatement, Ivana Caceres the third of five children and the daughter of Salvadorean parents, Jaime Caceres and Iris Cares. She can definitely assure you that music has been in her life from as long as she can remember, her mother vividly recalls dancing and singing to cumbia and salsa whilst expecting Ivana while her father, a talented conga drums player, set alive the Latin hot spots of Melbourne back in the 90’s to the rhythm of “La clave salsera” Ivana recalls her time at primary school as the one where she begun to perform in front of a crowd, singing and dancing has more or less been a way of expressing herself and from a very young age, she’s had her singing to get her through the good times and sad ones, music is her faithful companion and as well as a gifted singer Ivana is also a talented dancer and in 2015 performed next to Argentinian Icon El Simbolo, in his 2015 tour of Melbourne and Sydney. When asked about Selena Quintanilla, Ivana’s eyes light up, she learnt the name very early in her childhood and as time has passed, she has familiarized herself with all aspects of the American-Mexican singer, Ivana admits that Selena is much more than just a singer to her, she is an inspiration, a clear example that impossible is nothing. Coming from a big family, where there’s always a reason to celebrate, Ivana has had her fair share of cumbia, salsa, merengue and of course the Mexican corridos which are a big hit with her grandfather, she feels blessed to have so many people she can count on in her life, they eagerly await Ivana’s debut
at Melrose receptions, where a childhood dream will finally be a reality. Her Selena tribute has taken many hours of hard work, many hours of listening to her songs, watching her moves and trying to capture the essence of The queen of the Techno cumbia and although humble in her approach Ivana is confident that people will respond positively to her work and dedication to honour a great performer a great woman and great Latin icon like Selena Quintanilla.
In between rehearsals and dress fittings Ivana has made her way to the music studio of Jose Pepi Meza, where she recorded three covers over a 7 hour period, the experience was an absolute success as both Pepi and Ivana sat and discussed the fine details of recording her beautiful voice. Ivana who is also a keen performer of old school RNB, feels very strongly about taking her music further and writing her own music. Given the opportunity she knows she will deliver the final product whether in English or Spanish Ivana’s voice, her beautiful persona, her humble ways and her stage presence will undoubtedly captivate any audience.

Julio Pereira
Melbourne’s mambo king
A
few minutes before going out on stage, we find the charismatic Julio Pereira backstage, warming up his vocal cords with the exercises taught to him by a Cuban music teacher a few years ago, the Salvadorean born singer and musician, takes us on a trip down memory lane, where he humbly and proudly acknowledges his father as the person who installed the love and passion for music. From a very young age julio would get lost in the subtle rythm of Boleros and baladas a slow and romantic genre of latin music. from the moment he stepped on stage at 8 years old, to perform with school friends, julio hasn’t looked back and to this day warms the hearts of those who attend his events and enjoy his heart given performances. Having spent time in the United States as a teenager, Julio recalls his meeting and the opportunity to share the stage with Oscar D’Leon a renowned Venezuelan icon of Salsa music. As far as dreams becoming a reality go, this encounter will rank very highly from then on. Arriving in Australia in the mid 80’s Julio found a country with very little Latin musical input and a music scene he wasn’t accustomed to, nonetheless over the years he has managed to cement himself as a latin performer with presence, experience and a God given talent to entertain crowds through his music. Julio admits that music gives him a sense of happiness and fulfillment every time he holds his guitar or a microphone, whether at an event or at home with friends, he savours every word of what he sings. His knowledge of different genres of latin music including salsa, merengue and cumbia make him a versatile artist who is both humble yet confident of his talent. It was this confidence that took Julio and his Band peligro to the finals of the well known Clave contra Clave Salsa competition held here in Australia,
once again rubbing shoulders with the greatest performers of salsa, a familiar face came to his attention, Oscar D’leon once again crosses his path and the delightful reunion will be one he won’t forget, however it was sharing the stage with Willie Colon, the king of Salsa the moment he holds as his greatest as an artist. In an effort to keep the beautiful and romantic Boleros and Baladas well alive in Australia, julio has incorporated this genre in almost all of his performances, regardless of the country of origin, the crowd will always respond to the songs from Los Galos, los iracundos, Los Panchos and so many more. His dedication and professionalism has taken Julio Pereira and his music around Australia and over the years has gained the appreciation of many who have seen him perform, those he refers to as Mi gente, are the people who continuously support him and his music, he humbly reflects on that moment when he walks out on stage and sees familiar faces, it is a feeling of accomplishment and happiness to watch them sing along and dance the night away. As the interview nears the end, Julio remembers the people who have made him the man he is, both his mother and father, were fundamental in his upbringing as a person and musician, he recalls word by word his Dad’s teachings about what is really important in life, how to live a happy life and trusting his talent. As both his parents watch over him from above, only a few meters away from Julio, his partner Liss Corado is undoubtedly his number one fan, her unconditional support has taken the singer from strength to strength, understanding his passion, love for music and live performing has made her... his everything!

y experience in Miss Latina Australia 2016 is without a doubt one of the highlights of my life so far. I remember feeling scared, insecure and with very low self esteem, nonetheless i owed it to myself to step out of my comfort zone and feel confortable with who I was and what I represented. Soon after the rehersals started I realized how fortunate i was to have been given this opportunity and as the finals neared I could feel growing in both confidence and personality. On finals night i was crowned as Miss Photogenic and a few minutes later as Miss Latina International, what proceeded has been a busy schedule attending events, modelling, acting, being the face of a number of well known brands and meeting great people. I’ve also done some travelling but undoubtebly I’ve grown as a woman, I am now secure and tremendously happy and proud of what ive achieved so far. So... if you feel as doubting yourself ahead of any challenge...Don’t! Give yourself the opportunity to shine and show the world how special and beautiful you are, do not let fear come between making your dreams a reality. THE ORIGINAL AND THE BEST – OUR HISTORY The PartyLite tradition of making the world’s finest candles dates back more than a century to one woman and one candle in the heart of New England, where American candle-making has its roots. In 1909, a schoolteacher named Mabel Baker began making bayberry candles in her Cape Cod kitchen. Soon she was producing the finest candles in New England. From those sweet, fragrant beginnings emerged a company that, in 1973, introduced a new concept and a new brand called PartyLite. Based in Norwell, Mass., today our company is the world’s #1 party plan company selling candles, candle holders, flameless fragrance and wax warmers, as well as holiday and home décor in 20 different countries.
