Sun wolf, moon wolf

“Flavia, Flavia” Luna howled, bounding towards her sister, her space grey fur all a mess. She had been zooming round space all day waiting for her time to bring the night. “A shooting star, let’s chace it” she wagged her long tail as she waited for her sisters response. “Okay!” Flavia smiled beginning to fly after it.

Closer and closer did Flavia get. The star was inches from her nose, just one last pounce and she would get it! With all the exitment she didn’t hear her sisters cry “Flavia, get back, the Earth will pull you in and you must stay in space to bring the day!”

With one big pounce Flavia opened her mouth and grabbed the star around her teeth with a large SNAP but after she had finished celebrating she felt a tug on her tail. “Oh no!” she cried “HELP!”

Without a second warning Flavia fell down and down to Earth, and landed with a thud on the soft grass of a garden. “What was that?” A young orphan sat up in his bed with a start, he tiptoed to the window and peeked through the glass, “a glowing wolf?!”

He left his shoes by the door and slowly put his hand on the door handle, it was cold to the touch, it opened with a creak and he stepped outside, the wolf stared at him from a distance, her gaze friendly and warm, he paced slowly towards Flavia, trying not to spook her, thats when he noticed her leg was grazed, but he had a solution!

He untied his bandage that wrapped around his eye and tied it round Flavia’s leg “this should stop the bleeding” he whispered and Flavia smiled back wrapping her good paw around him “Thankyou” Flavia spoke, “may i ask your name?”

Fraser

The boy responded in shock, “how can i understand you?” Flavia looked back at him and smiled “I put a spell on you” “Why are you here?” Fraser continued “Where did you fall from?” The wolf laughed “i am from space, I am supposed to control the sun and bring the day but i fell, and if i don’t get back soon then the whole world will be in eternal darkness!” “Well, how do you get back?” Fraser responded.

“Well, i must travel to the top of the highest mountain and do a special howl...the Ortus howl” Flavia looked up and towards the hills in the distance, “you see that bright star over there? Well thats where i need to go.

“I’ll help you” Fraser replied, his face beaming with exitement to go on an adventure, Flavia smirked, “Climb on my back and let’s begin!”

Flavia bounded along the grass as Fraser bounced up and down on her back, the night was almost taking over soon there would be no light at all. “If i am not in space soon then i will slowly become a normal wolf ” Flavia whined, looking down at ther usually bright yellow fur as it was slowly becoming a lot dimmer. “Dont worry, we’ll get you back” Fraser replied

It wasn’t long until they ran into a problem, a cross road, one going to the left and the other to the right. “Oh no, what will we do?” Fraser cried when suddenly a mouse came out from the bushes looking worried.

I can help you, if you can help me!...you see, my chunk of cheese was stolen and...

NO

“NO” shouted Fraser “we need your help and we need it NOW!” He crossed his arms and looked away from the mouse, that was when Flavia kicked in. “Now, now Fraser, there is no need to be rude, if you are mean to someone then how do you expect them to help you if you are having a bit of trouble?” He turned back, red with embarrassment, “I’m sorry Flavia, i just want to get you home as quick as possible” he replied. “Dont worry, lets just apologise and try asking the nice mouse again, Eh!” She smiled sitting down and making Fraser slide off her back.

“I...I’m sorry for being so rude earlier, i’m just in a hurry myself ” Fraser smiled, “I guess we could use your help, do you remember where the bandits put your cheese?” He asked. “I think its in that tree up there, but you see, I cant get up on my own..could you help me?” Fraser looked up, the tree branches were very high up, too high for him, but he had yet another solution!”

Flavia, can i stand on your back so I can give the mouse a boost so she can reach her cheese?” Fraser asked “Good idea” Flavia replied standing next to the tree and letting him get on her back with the mouse in his hand.

It worked! The mouse scrambled onto the branch to collect her dinner, “Thankyou so much, if it wasn’t for your quick thinking i might have gone hungry” she giggled

“Now i’ll tell you which path to take so you can reach the mountain” the mouse smiled, if you take a left through the forest then you will reach your destination” “Thankyou” Fraser replied and off they went. “What a lovely mouse” Flavia howled “and well done for being polite” she smiled. The sky was almost black and Flavia was almost turning normal, time was almost up, they had to reach the mountain soon.

As they walked and walked and got further away from the mouse they came upon yet another problem. “A river” Fraser cried “How ever do we get across? I cant swim” Fraser hugged Flavia’s leg as they thought of ideas. “I have never needed to swim for there is no water on the moon, so i can’t swim either” Flavia sighed, sitting down. “Wait a second!” she gasped, “Jump on my back, I have a plan”

Fraser leaped onto Flavia’s back as she moved back a few steps, “I’m going to jump, hold on tight” She shook her body and wagged her tail before crouching down and making Fraser lurch forward giggling, “here we go” she grinned and leaped from the bank. Both of them shut there eyes and hoped that they made it across until THUD. Flavia’s paws hit the soft grass on the other side of the river, “Horray!” Fraser cheered but as he let go of Flavia’s thick fur he noticed he had accidentally pulled some of it out, so he pushed it into his pyjama pocket.

“It was like you flew!” Fraser giggled “you soared through the air like an eagle” as the duo looked up they noticed the mountain was so close, they didnt have long to go now, they just had to reach the top and do the ortus howl, it was a race against time. So off they ran, past rocks and boulders as big as the both or them, the star was in their sights.

Finally they reached the star, Flavia almost a normal wolf now, she had to do the Ortus howl now or she would never get back. “Thankyou for evevrything” she smiled giving fraser one last hug, I’ll miss you” he cried, “I’ll miss you too”

Flavia stood back and lifted her headtowards the sky and let out a howl and in a flurry of sparks she was carried up and up. “Goodbye Fraser” she howled and soon she was gone and the sun slowly began to rise. “We did it” Fraser cried holding in his hand the clump of fur, “we did it”
